But that's doesn't take in account all goals that are reviewed and then validated. The number of goals that go into the VAR process is higher than 96%. Creates a much worse match experience, no matter whether or not goal is scored.

@DaleJohnsonESPN Disagree. The very definition of the words “clear and obvious” suggest it shouldn’t take a long time. It’s a very valid point.

Rugby WC final. SA try. Poss forward pass. Within 30seconds “is it obvious?” “No”. On field decision stands.

@DaleJohnsonESPN Yes but he’s saying that VAR was intended for clear and obvious errors. At no point does he say it was “intended to take a minute or less”. Point is he’s right - if you’re taking that long to decide then it’s not clear and obvious!
