NOT Transient Explorer (NTE) is a spectrograph covering 0.32 µm to 2.42 µm spectral range in a single shot, and a dual-color imager covering UBVRIYJHK.

We are, together with the mechanical workshop at IFA at @AarhusUni, working hard to finish the manufacturing of the NTE Visual imager.
Here you can see the central mirror wheel being milled. It will contain the dichroics and mirrors.

May we present the holders for the NTE Visual Imager dichroic mounts!
These are central to the simultaneous VIS/NIR imaging capability of NTE.
These are produced at the mechanical workshop at IfA/Aarhus University.

🖳 Today, after 38 years developing and maintaining the TCS, the most essential part of the telescope, Ingvar starts his most rightly deserved retirement
🥲 We can only be very grateful for the main years he dedicated to the telescope. The NOT would not be what it is without him!
We are currently testing the prototype of the flexure compensating grating mount for the NTE spectrograph. Here at room temperature first, but the piezoelectric adjustment screws can be used in vacuum/cryogenic conditions.

Advances in the construction of #nottransientexplorer
Here is the grating mount, that can be adjusted, using piezoelectric settings crews designed for cryogenic vacuum operation.
Thanks to @Carlsbergfondet for their continued support of our project!
