Lee Gilley reported that his wife, Christa, had died by suicide from overdosing on drugs in their Houston home on October 7, 2024.
An autopsy revealed that Christa had died not by drug overdose but by compression of the neck. At the time of the incident, she was about eight weeks pregnant.
Four days later, her husband was arrested on capital murder charges related to the death of his wife and unborn child.
Evidence indicates there may have been a previous attempt on Christa’s life.
He pleaded not guilty and was released on a $1 million bond- one of 24 capital murder defendants free on bond pending trial.
His family paid the $100,000 cash requirement for his release on October 17, 2024.
He later removed his GPS monitor, fled to Canada and then boarded a flight to Italy on May 1, 2026.
Italy doesn’t extradite if the death penalty is a possibility.
Christa Bauer Gilley had her PhD in Physical Therapy and was the mother of two young children. She was also the main breadwinner of the family.
Shortly before Christa’s murder, Lee Gilley referred to his 2 year old son as a “f’ing fa@@ot” in public, shocking his friends.
He solicited college-aged “friends with benefits” on Reddit and had previously had an affair.
And the day he allegedly killed her, he bought an SUV without her consent, that he couldn’t afford on his own.
He is currently in custody in Italy, fighting extradition.
This whole case stinks.
Trump has suspended the Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority (VIHFA) from receiving federal funding.
In 2017, the US government sent almost $2 billion to the US Virgin Islands, intended for recovery after Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
HUD Secretary Scott Turner recently sent letter to VIHFA letting them know that after years of fraud, corruption, and mismanagement, the suspension of federal funding would be effective immediately. .
Almost 10 years and $2 billion, USVI citizens still do not have the housing and electrical power repairs that needed to be made after catastrophic damage.
I like the idea of doing it like a bar- hand over your card to start a tab.
Dining & dashing is theft.
It is contemptible.
It should be made a felony requiring a minimum of 1 year of prison.
How long until certain people are refused service entirely?
Or are made to pay before their food is delivered?

@Arkypatriot I wouldn’t answer the question if I was asked. One of my adult children doesn’t have a weapon at home at this time and so answered “no”. I was outraged the question had even been asked. They were shocked by the question too.
Why are pediatricians asking parents if they have guns in the home?
How is that their business?
Who instructed them to ask that question?
Who do they submit that information to?

Kentucky HB 622 requires vacant Senate seats be filled by special election.
Gov Andy Beshear is a criminal and he will 100% try to circumvent the law and appoint someone of his choosing. However, that person will have to be a Republican, I believe.
It will throw this state into chaos and waste money that should not be spent on the inevitable legal challenges.
He is a horrible person.
The media and Congressional Democrats are partially responsible for this.
They demonize ICE and DHS every single day.
They encourage this terrorism, and they encourage illegal immigrants to flee and try to remain in this country.
Imagine how much easier it would be if they did the right thing and advised illegals to leave the US and not to flee or fight ICE.

The total volume of his trades is between $344 million and $1.9+ billion.
His trades are heavily concentrated in family trusts/partnerships, tech, healthcare, energy, and broad index funds.
He sits on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and chaired it during the 118th Congress. He also sits on the House Committee on Homeland Security. Both of which give him unique insights into the energy sector.
He is also involved in related caucuses, such as the Congressional Semiconductor Caucus, where he is co-chair.
I imagine that helps with his tech trades, at a minimum.
Why are we allowing the members of Congress to use inside information to get filthy rich?

He seems to spend more time trading stocks than anything else.
