How come there are constant holes and loopholes in the divine morality?

@ckfkfkskksymid @MattiaRubio @waynejones36805 Jesus was a mortal man, fully mortal yet fully divine. His life was finite and a book could contain all he had done and said. He was only 33-39 years old when he died.

It seems plausible that God himself would prepare humanity to know his rules no?

Hmm if God was unchanging and morality is objective why would it change based on time period and not be consistent for humanity ad infinitum?

It’s more moral to decide to do unto others as you would yourself than to require a divine being to tell you to do it. Would you murder if God said it was ok?

@ckfkfkskksymid @MattiaRubio @waynejones36805 Because there is no objective morality under God, the Bible is contradictory 1 Samuel 15:3 the prophet tells the Jews to genocide the Amalekites but later but in Exodus 20:1-17 “Thou shalt not kill”

Even God would be subjective in his rules and morality.

Objective proof of a divine being would change my life but until that point God is subjective.

Even if it doesn’t outright endorse why does it allow something that I would hope you see as immoral.

You outline slavery but slavery is permitted and encouraged within the Bible, Gen 12:16 24:35 Isa 14:1-2, Exodus 21:20-21, Leviticus 19:20-22

We as people decided slavery was wrong not religion.

The Bible says it’s good to earn slaves, take them as your concubines after war and have sex with them out of wedlock without consent.

The Bible is as flawed as any human with or without a God.

@waynejones36805 Because if you have a modicum of empathy you can associate that you do not wish to suffer and therefore would not wish for others to suffer because you would not.

Really not complex enough to require a deity to teach basic empathy.

He definitely didn’t credit them but he also completely misunderstood the Siksika culture so assuming he stole it does a disservice to their actual culture.

He did however not credit them at all, the main issue.

@royale_vera @hermitcraft_ He has mostly made positive changes by banning and firing/letting go anyone who were negatively affecting people.

Change is a journey not an immediate destination, you have to remember Skizz is almost 50 years old as well, learning is physiologically harder when you’re older

@YerFriendGraph @Xen_Main @SkizzleArchive Maslow’s hierarchy however is not really “stolen” he had the concepts of it before in his writings before meeting the indigenous people, they just heavily influenced a lot of his study in a less western civil structure.

Which also in fairness Maslow never really understood.
