This is Serhiy Vlasenko, a rescuer from Kyiv. The photo shows him standing in the ruins of his apartment, which was destroyed by Russia last night.
Serhiy is a man who embodies the strength and character of the Rescue Service.
He is 35 years old and has spent 15 of those years in service. As a shift commander, he has seen and extinguished hundreds of fires and rescued people from the most difficult conditions.
Last night, Serhiy was on duty.
A Russian drone struck the building where he lived with his family.
The apartment, which just yesterday was full of life, was completely burned out.
Serhiy's mother, his wife, their 5-year-old son, and their 8-month-old daughter were at home. They managed to react to the air raid alert in time, and it saved their lives.
When the rescue team arrived at the scene, Serhiy saw that it was his own apartment on fire. He kept working—fighting the flames that engulfed his home, clearing debris to reach his children's room.
This was a heavy ordeal. But he handled it just as he does every "combat" shift: professionally and precisely[..]
Stories like this are a reminder that rescuers aren't just part of a service. They are people with children, parents, and homes of their own. And even when their own home becomes a casualty of war, they are still the first to go and help others.
Thank you, Serhiy.

Just witnessed multiple missiles explode right above my apartment in central Kyiv. A totally residential are filled with families sleeping. Absolute fucking terrorism. I’ve blurred the view but you can hear the chaos.
This footage is from the district where I grew up. I’m trying to figure out if I recognize where it was filmed.
I know Shaheds were attacking a site not far from where most of my family and friends live. My best friend isn’t answering her phone…
I hope she’s just asleep. She didn’t get much sleep the night before. Her husband was mobilized yesterday. He wasn’t afraid. He always said that he’d go when the time came.
But my friend was still devastated. The last time I talked to her, it was about 3 AM in Kyiv. She was crying.
I’m feeling overwhelmed right now. I want Russia to go to hell. I want it to pay for everything it’s done to Ukrainians.
This heartbreaking video from earlier today shows a mother whose daughter and son-in-law were buried under the rubble.
Klitchko initially reported 4 killed in the Russian attack. We now know it was 6. It’s impossible not to wonder if the other two were her family…

“We are deeply grateful to our brotherly Korean people for their assistance.”
- Alexander Khinshtein, the governor of Kursk Oblast, in response to Kim Jong Un sending 1,000 North Korean sappers to Russia.
This is a very interesting propaganda clip. Apart from showing singing North Koreans, it repeats the Kremlin’s new narrative about Ukrainians planting explosives in toys.
On a side note: why is North Korea not afraid of escalation when it sends its soldiers to Russia, while all Europeans are afraid to send their troops to Ukraine?

Pokrovsk, Donetsk region. Present day.
“They shouted, ‘We can do it again.’ And they did — bringing death, ruin, and poverty.
Secondo Putin,
le famiglie numerose dovrebbero diventare la norma in russia.
Come la povertà, naturalmente.
