This video from the active shooter incident at the In-N-Out in Twin Falls, Idaho yesterday appears to show a civilian armed with a handgun engaging the gunman.
Witnesses reported seeing a man with an AR-style rifle come out of the drive-thru area, and then a separate individual with a pistol began returning fire on him.

The shooter is now confirmed dead by police, with three total fatalities and at least two injured.
This is the kind of real-time response the right to keep and bear arms is meant to enable.

Can someone who has received a full presidential pardon still plead the Fifth Amendment when questioned about the conduct covered by the pardon?

A pardon protects you from federal prosecution, but it completely strips away your Fifth Amendment right to remain silent.

Because you can no longer be prosecuted, a court or congressional committee can legally force you to testify about every detail of the crime.

This exact trap played out when Senator Josh Hawley questioned Dr. Anthony Fauci.

After Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment to avoid answering even basic questions—like what color the carpet was—Hawley pointed out the legal reality.

Because Fauci had received a pre-emptive pardon from Joe Biden, his Fifth Amendment privilege was legally gone.

If you accept a pardon, refusing to testify can land you in jail for contempt.
