@pixeluche Mario took its time to build it's franchise and gear it's audience to expect these satellite series. Just like how fans of TMNT got used to the idea of various reimagined stories of their franchise. It doesn't work for everything and it shouldn't need to.

@SonicHero3D Yes. They based their company in California which is a bad and expensive idea plus they spent too much time doing free DLC for a shovel night. Mina the hollower had a long dev of time so they're funding has dried up quite a bit.

The subject of the Shovel Knight team running out of funds should be analyses and all indie devs should learn from this.
