Anticompetitive behaviour is tolerated in healthcare. It increases costs to consumers, and negatively impacts on access to care and choice. Historically it has been supported by government and bureaucracy. It’s time for change @acccgovau@acnp_national@gedkearney@Mark_Butler_MP
As an Australian, I will not be told I cannot or should not own and operate my own business. I most certainly should not be blocked because of competitive fears. Do a great job, offer a great service, and you don’t need to worry so much about competition. It has to stop!
Great to meet with @Leanne_Boase, President of @acnp_national, and local @nursehelms to hear about the great work nurse practitioners are doing in the ACT & around Aus.
Looking forward to hearing more about the future of NPs and how we can work to get services to those in need.
I had a really interesting time with @Leanne_Boase today talking about innovation in health care delivery -finding solutions for apparently insoluble problems. Sometimes we just need to change the lens !🔬👓🥽
Juliane Samara, #NP is willing to have a conversation, help to become the #change when talking about #NPs, their role in #Palliative Aged Care, & improving the care for #patients. Thank you for speaking on this important issue of #diversity & #inclusion

@meta4RN Yep and I have been getting vaccinated for 37yrs in my profession to protect me and the community. I am right behind choice. All choices in life come with consequences. That may be that you can’t do a particular job. I want to nurse. So I get jabbed. Follow the science.
Just a reminder: vaccines are not mandatory. For many jobs vaccination is a condition of employment, but there is freedom to choose whether you wish to meet that condition or find an alternative employer. No offence meant; hopefully none taken. Good luck. https://t.co/ynwuQJQrh7
You can also revisit the launch of our second annual report in this video▶️. First published in June, the report finds that 3,347 children died in England between 2019 and 2020, and provides a detailed analysis of those deaths. Watch here: https://t.co/KjNh6hh5kN [2/2]
"Long may they continue to hold their nerve" @jonaholmes48 on @ABCmediawatch tonight. Indeed we will. The benefits of public engagement on vaccination are far too great. Grateful to those sending messages of support after this story was published. https://t.co/XFdypOz0wI
“I would far rather see all of the lottery money put toward guaranteed cash payments, it would be much more effective,” My colleague @noelTbrewer on their clever study of cash incentives, where they also gave the incentive to those driving people to the clinic.
Enjoyed this broad-ranging discussion on vaccine hesitancy in the clinic with Dr Caroline West, who also reflects on her experience in a clinic in a remote setting. We start with kids and the focus broadens to vaccine communication in general.
