Teachers who are not yet over their COVID symptoms are coming back to work because there are no substitutes and/or not given enough sick leave to stay home. Especially new teachers who have not built-up leave.

@JoshuaPotash Many classrooms in Norfolk Public Schools are without heat, almost all without any kind of proper air filtration, and some bathrooms are still without soap.

This isn't okay on a normal day, let alone almost two years into a pandemic.

@NPSchoo1s Tweet to add that NPS also got CARES act money that was allocated for bonuses for IT staff (for working overtime over the pandemic bc virtual learning) and not only did a lot of IT staff not get the bonus, Cataldo (the chief in charge of IT) LIED TO THE BOARD/CITY ABOUT IT.
