Anyone know how to actually get through and speak to someone at @virginmedia - absolutely ridiculous telephone line and they are in danger of losing my custom!!

@virginmedia 30 mins on a telephone simply trying to navigate the menu system, just to be able to speak to someone… only to be told for a 2nd time that you would be coming “today” (you failed to do so last time) and you still failed to arrive to finish the connection work. Poor, poor form.

@StarlightMcKenz @fesshole Controversial opinion here: the ‘Home Educators’ often take their kids out of school because the school “doesn’t know what it’s doing” because their kids keep getting into trouble… then return to school a few weeks later when they realise they can’t handle them themselves!

Here’s an interesting one:

looking at car insurance renewals (and the extortionate prices), and did some experimenting.

We kept ALL details exactly the same in quoting except one, and saw a 25% REDUCTION.

Can anybody guess what one detail we changed?!

From a clearly female name to a clearly male name. No other differences whatsoever. It doesn’t even ask for gender.

So we kept ALL details the same for my wife: (job, age, experience etc) and changed literally only one thing across the whole quote. We changed the first name. And made it a male name. Went from £453 to £368.

Nothing but the first name.
