You can always tell when someone grew up with intense fear based parenting. They always think they're in trouble. They apologize for things they don't need to apologize for. And they over-explain things so intensely you can feel their anxiety.
“Anytime you’re different and unconventional, people are going to criticize you. Either they dont understand it. They’re envious, or they cant perform at that level.”
@Theholisticpsyc What I can say for sure is that everything I understood about love was just a grain of sand compared to the beaches and deserts of love I found after having kids.
Being AuDHD means being able to make friends because you're high energy and can pass as outgoing at a single event,
but being doubly unable to keep friends because you forget people exist when you can't see them and because your recharge time is measured in weeks
@Theholisticpsyc When i was 4 years old my grandfather was babysitting us and saw that i was still using a bottle. He didnt agree with that & forced me to throw out. I looked at my mom - she was wide eyed but didnt protest and said “do as he says”
I don’t know who needs to hear this but if a baby starts crying dont try to soothe the baby immediately give them back to their mom. Thats their safety net.
Release the myth that with the right person a relationship with be easy, especially if never witnessed healthy relationships as children. Relationships are where we heal and learn how to be better people. Sometimes it's not easy. Sometimes it's scary.
@TheBlondeRN The time in nursing school my clinical instructor told me we were going to give meds so i grab a cup of water - got yelled bc pt was NPO so i tossed the cup in an empty trash can - then she yelled at me for doing that & had me stand near the garbage to apologize to the janitor
The human ego, unchecked, will give up human connection in order to be right. This is why to have healthy relationships, it’s important to master (and understand) your own ego.
@walker_farm@EM_RESUS This happened to my 3 year old when he was two months old. My dog was acting weird so I went to check on baby. Found baby unresponsive. Did CPR for 7min got baby back. Appeared totally healthy right before. still can’t wrap my mind around that memory.
