Mission accomplished! Take a close look at some of the fine detail of these delightful embroidered stools, now freshly cleaned and looking fab. #conservation#deepcleaning#embroidery
We've been quiet on hfqere for a while but that doesn't mean we haven't been busy! For the next three days we'll be giving the High Great Chamber stools a deep clean. Feel free to come watch us at work and ask a question or two. #conservation#deepcleaning
Without Ida around anymore it falls to us to clean the potty. Thankfully it's not been used! You can learn about the servants & how suffrage affected them & the family this year on the middle floor & below stairs. #deepcleaning#suffrage#servants#goingpotty
It's been a busy few months getting ready for the season and opening 2 new exhibitions. But there's no time to lay back (especially on this lovely chaise's lounge) as we continue on with the deep clean. #conservation#deepcleaning
@eleanorcastile It's a lime ash render. Tudor concrete effectively. Was a bi-product of limestone quarrying and lighter, stronger, more hard-wearing than wood planks or stone slabs.
The chaps & volunteer chaps have been very busy moving the long gallery furniture into the HGC & giving it a deep clean. Thankfully there was cake to keep us going!
