I’m shocked and angry by what I’m experiencing with Capitec.

A family member recently passed away. Four years ago, I took out a funeral policy to help cover basic fuel costs and family contributions when the time came.

Today, I’ve been told that my aunt was “over-insured” and that only the first three people who insured her will receive payouts. My claim will not be paid.

What I don’t understand is this: if the policy wasn’t valid because she was already over-insured, why was my application accepted and my premiums collected for the past four years? Why wasn’t the policy declined from the start?

I’m still sitting at the bank trying to get answers.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? What are my options from here?

I can’t even deal with how disgusting this is.
Multi-billion rand companies like KPMG, CSIR, Investec, Transnet are exploiting desperate graduates by outsourcing free labour through fraudulent government NGOs like SAGDA, YES, you name it that pay stipend of R4k–R6k a month for full-time workload , brutal demands, and hazardous jobs.

Full-time hours, excessive bullshit workloads, real hazards, then dumb them when the contract runs ends. No permanent job , just the next wave of victims every year. These young people match or exceed what permanents on R80k–R100k do, but they’re treated like disposable tools.
It’s exploitation, theft, and slavery all rolled into one, hidden behind “youth employment” nonsense. I’m livid, this needs to burn.
