@nctsvtp1h@daniverse____ People bring these things up when they notice a pattern. They see how much she misses and remember she has a habit of doing this so her past will be brought up. The same thing happens to Jennie with her energy and vocal skills
@Amherststation3@chintyana08@askinyow I guarantee you that big labels behind most black artists have a majority non-black board that’s reaping the profits. I just in general feel iffy on the subject of gatekeeping culture instead of sharing it, though I understand where you come from
@Amherststation3@chintyana08@askinyow I think the argument of it being bad to be a rapper and make hiphop music is bad if you’re not black as a flawed argument. The argument has holes and the same thing can be said for black artists in other musical spaces such as country music and funk.
@Amherststation3@chintyana08@askinyow Sorry but I’m genuinely so confused. This is not them dressing like black people. If they were sagging their pants I would understand it more since it’s something that is heavily emphasized in gang culture in spaces like Chicago and Philly. This is just them wearing street wear
@Amherststation3@chintyana08@askinyow Dressing artists like black people? Do you have any picture examples? I know their fashion is heavy on street wear however how do you dress like a black person? What makes the way an American black person dress that’s different to the rest of the population?
@Amherststation3@askinyow Genuine question, in what ways have kpop been stealing hiphop culture and how does it cross the line of stealing instead of just inspiration?do you have any kpop and/or non kpop examples of being inspired by hiphop culture?
@nctsvtp1h@daniverse____ They had all the right to be frustrated that a girl that is not nearly as skilled or dedicated is getting success handed to her because of her looks alone 💀 keep up, it’s not a hard concept to grasp
@nctsvtp1h@daniverse____ If she really did prove herself, you should let that speak for itself instead of attacking giving think pieces 😂 she’s mediocre and she never wanted to be a singer, she wanted to be famous
@nctsvtp1h@daniverse____ I have never seen any black pop girls get called lazy, people call her lazy because she’s uncommitted, not for her race. She just doesn’t want to accept her shortcomings and pin it all on discrimination. She would miss out on rehearsals because she didn’t feel like it *her words*
@Lena_zdy@amisteememory@daniverse____ They didn’t have a problem with her for no reason, she was uncommitted and she even admitted to it. How can you include someone who’s never around. She often broke curfew and at some point even started living with her aunt/sister. How can you build a connection with a ghost?
@Lena_zdy@amisteememory@daniverse____ They weren’t upset at Manon being missing on the times she was sick. They were upset for her not being there on the days she didn’t feel like it. That’s the difference.
@MANONMADAME888@limpewpew@bttrflycandypnt when did I say you were? I said you victimizing someone who uses their race to excuse their shortcomings makes the community look bad
@nyatheagst4n@daniverse____ no, the logic is using race to excuse poor behavior. In translation, the op is saying Manon said people call her lazy not because she actually is, but because she's black and with that logic, it would mean the other black contestants would also be labeled lazy but they weren't
@Homobound@daniverse____ There were times she wasn't, that's what they were calling out. She wasn't unfairly targeted, the girls had valid reasons. They literally said they frustration at Manon for not showing up and putting in work and frustration at the system of the show for unfair ranking, not Manon
@wastedongta@daniverse____ mind you, Manon didn't put in even HALF of the effort the other girls in the show put in and still made it into the group...Manon had it easy and even said she knew she'd be in the group before dream academy was even announced
@nctsvtp1h@daniverse____ Still doesn't correlate with her having to use her race to further victimize herself. If she's tired of getting called lazy that's fine, but don't try to use black struggle in the music industry to get sympathy when your situation doesn't apply
