@chris__pc Went to some DJI stores in China. In Beijing, no drones on display or for sale anymore. In another province, drones were for sale but they confirmed drones cannot be brought back to Beijing.
@michael_levette When they start making me have to think if a purchase is going to qualify for cashback is when I start using another card for all purchases. Excluding costco and utilities is a bad move. If they’re worried about abuse then just stop the abusers
@deobfuscations Would be nice to send/receive money without sharing our X handle so people can keep their account private. There could be a persistent non-x handle address or an option to generate a random temporary handle that can send/receive
Why in the world did @Apple not put the C2 chip in the US iPhone 18 Pro Max? US 18 Pro gets it. 18 Pro Max in other regions gets it. Did they just forget? Or not care bc the Pro Max has a bigger battery? Either way, seems pretty silly and will stop me from buying one in the US.
Update: when it’s out for delivery, it still shows exactly where the delivery driver is AND even gives you their phone number in case you need to call them
@anon7431@X I also just found out that if you haven’t updated your app since the twitter days, posts with images just show no images at all. Hoping this finally convinces my wife to update her app…
I really dislike the carousel image layout on @X posts primarily because i have the swipe right feature set to like a post and have display engagement disabled, so i rely on that little pink vertical bar to know if i swiped far enough right to actually like the tweet. But with the carousel it does not show unless you swipe all the way to the end of the images so it is very hard to know if i actually liked the tweet or now. Hope @benjitaylor and team can find a way to improve this experience
Following up on this. Here’s what happens when @XMoney wants you to confirm a purchase.
1. The payment screen goes to a Stripe / Visa Secure Payment confirmation page, and you get a push notification and a text notification asking you to confirm.
2. Go to the confirmation page in the @X app and select “Approve Transaction”
3. Go back to the waiting for confirmation page and then it will show confirmed. Then the payment will go through.
@EdLudlow@bot I’m traveling in China, so I set up a bot and logged it into some Chinese apps so it can help me find and order things, provide status updates, translate messages etc.
Update: Not getting asked to approve @XMoney transactions anymore. But it might be because all this food and 1L of beer was less than $20 at the night market
Confirming @XMoney works in China.
No foreign transaction fee. Rate on the charge was 6.72 CNY/USD, which looked decent.
Process:
1. Added the X virtual card in Alipay
2. Paid through Alipay as usual
3. Got a push from X to confirm the charge
4. Opened the X app, approved it, payment went through
X is still blocked here, you need an eSIM or VPN to open the app and confirm. eSIM worked fine for me.
@james_almeida@Tesla@robotaxi I’d heard about that tradition too! I think Elon called it a tradition after they took the Cybertruck through one. But seeing a Cybercab do it in LA hits different
Spotted a @Tesla Cybercab w/ Florida plates in the In-n-Out drive through line near LA. Then a few minutes later saw another one on the freeway w/ Texas plates! Guess they are really getting ready for the Sep 3rd @robotaxi launch.
