@CameronJJJ @bleddb @monkeycageblog 1. Even by US standards an FOBS is not violating OST, entering the orbit on your way to target is nothing close to stationing warheads in orbit.
2. Current reports did mention FOBS but not OBS, had it been an OBS I believe the US would’ve been making a lot more noise than now.
@CameronJJJ @bleddb @monkeycageblog Calling it an OBS would be serious allegation, OBS is fundamentally different from the more likely FOBS, and is a violation of certain treaty. With all the information out there at the moment, there’s nothing suggesting it’s an OBS.
@BatRock8@Aviation_Intel Regardless if this would be successful or not, there can’t be a faster way to escalate into a full scale and even nuclear war. Unless you don’t care about the backfire, I don’t see how this could possibly be an option at all.
@TreyDuncanson@Aviation_Intel You probably lived enough to not care about the price to pay for wiping out a major nuclear power, not sure your kids would love to be vaporized though.
@otocachumbambe@Moonshot7161969@Aviation_Intel That’s nuts, this is basically Cuban Missile Crisis 2.0, with US playing the previously Soviet role. IIRC things didn’t work out so well for the Russians though. And in return China would probably sell/deploy nuke subs to Cuba/Venezuela, want that in your backyard overnight?
@VaBills @MpkCereal @BillGertz@Aviation_Intel I can’t figure out why you suddenly turned so unfriendly when I’m just simply saying the good old A10 you love won’t work in certain situations and better jets/tactics will be needed to get the job done.
@VaBills @MpkCereal @BillGertz@Aviation_Intel Sure, closer IS cooler, but I’d prefer the pilot to finish the job while staying alive over having to go fight through the enemy to rescue a downed pilot
@VaBills @MpkCereal @BillGertz@Aviation_Intel Hmmm, so are you suggesting you have a better chance of winning (or surviving?) a war against China/Russia than a war with Taliban and such? Enlighten me pls, highly experienced combat vet.
@VaBills @MpkCereal @BillGertz@Aviation_Intel I don’t need to force you to accept my view on the topic, I’m sure you’ll know the difference of fighting some guerrillas vs fighting peer state adversaries. The more experienced you are, the more you’ll agree. It’s not about pride, just facts.
@VaBills @MpkCereal @BillGertz@Aviation_Intel No that’s not cool, might be okay when you are on your own facing some raggedy ass Iraqi or Afghani militia, but change that to China/Russia I don’t think you’ll like it.
@VaBills @MpkCereal @BillGertz@Aviation_Intel In a war against China, if you insist on relying on the A10 or even the F18, you or the JTAC will never hear them check in over the radio, you’ll just be informed by the HQ “The A10 was downed way before it entered the AO, there won’t be any air support, you are on your own now.”
@VaBills @MpkCereal @BillGertz@Aviation_Intel I get the A10 fantasy of army grunts, but those experiences were not from a war with peer-state enemy (when was the last time someone fought such a war?). Even when the Iraqi air defense/air force was wiped out they still managed to shoot down quite a few A10s.
