This is Louis, my son's classmate.
He attends South Lodge Primary School in Invergordon. He uses a wheelchair and walking frame.
@HighlandCouncil are REFUSING to install ramps at the nearest exit arguing 1 for the building is enough.
His mother has said:
"Louis would like to be able to escape via the nearest exit in the event of an emergency in his classroom next school year.
"Louis would also like to go in and out of the class with his class mates at break time, from the same door so why is he being denied ramp access. He would also like to be able to independently move through the school without having to rely on others holding doors open."
To be clear, headmaster David Hayes Macleod and school staff have tried very hard on Loius behalf.
