@Maks_NAFO_FELLA Trump's plan amounts to cutting off support to Ukraine and so pressurising them to accept the land grab by his best buddy Putin (who will then rebuild his shattered military prior to further invasion).
@WKCosmo The idea that everything in the universe has a material (physical) cause is presumed by some scientists to be true as an article of faith, despite it:
a) Not being a proven theory (there's evidence for & against).
(b) Leading to an infinite series of causation questions.
@BayouPhilosophy It would be more accurate to say that consciousness can involve a physical process (rather than being solely this process) - there is abundant evidence to suggest that the brain is more a filter of consciousness (for evolutionary survival purposes) than a generator of it.
@petemandik If someone has no chocolate, they can think the thought "I am tasting chocolate" as many times as they like, but this won't magically conjure up the actual experience of tasting chocolate. At best it will only conjure up a memory of doing so.
@DrWinarick So, according to you, depression caused by (e.g.) bereavement or abuse-trauma is a 'brain disorder'? This idea has zero credibility.
Nor is dualism the only option for someone who doesn't believes that everything mental is physical. Knowing more about philosophy would help you.
@JustRickard Fundamentalism is not about religion - that's just a disguise. Its main aim is earthly power & control, especially over women.
As Jung said, “Where love rules, there is no will to power, and where power predominates, love is lacking. The one is the shadow of the other.”
