After nearly nine years with the #NorthVan RCMP, Cpl. Mansoor Sahak is moving on from his duties as the detachment’s Media Relations Officer.

For the past four years, Cpl. Sahak has been the face of our detachment, consistently making time for media inquiries of all kinds and helping keep our community informed. His professionalism, thoughtfulness and care for others have made him a valued colleague and a familiar face in North Vancouver.

We’re grateful for everything Mansoor has contributed over the years. He’ll be missed.

On Monday, one of our motor officers stopped a driver on Main Street for using an electronic device while driving.

We’re used to seeing a cell phone in someone’s hand, but this driver decided to level up, holding a tablet with both hands while behind the wheel.

The driver was fined $368. The ticket also comes with four demerit points.

💍 A $50,000 ring, one detailed report, and a perfect Match

Recently, a North Vancouver RCMP officer was assisting University RCMP with extra duties on their day off when they received a frantic call from a woman reporting that her wedding ring, featuring a 3-carat diamond and valued at approximately $50,000, had been lost along the Pacific Spirit Trail in Vancouver.

The officer took the report and carefully documented a detailed description of the ring.

Shortly after, a good Samaritan turned in a ring to the North Vancouver RCMP detachment.

While reviewing reports, a civilian employee conducted a search and recognized the description as matching the one from the University RCMP file.

The next day, the same officer who had taken the original report was able to reunite the ring with its rightful owner, who was understandably extremely grateful.

In this case, it was the attention to detail in that initial report that connected the dots. A good Samaritan found it, a civilian employee recognized the description, and an officer followed through.

A great example of how the little details, and a little teamwork, can make a big difference. ❤️💍

This past weekend, we joined the 25th anniversary of the Pulling Together Canoe Journey in Agassiz.

From the traditional territories of the Sts’ailes First Nation, 12 canoe families began their journey along the Harrison River to Tsawwassen First Nation.

For 25 years, the journey has brought people together to share, learn and build relationships that continue long after the canoes reach shore. We’re grateful to be part of it.

Parents, a reminder that in B.C., you must be 16 or older to operate an e-scooter. Allowing someone under 16 to ride one isn’t just putting them at risk, it can also result in consequences for the person who allowed it.

This week, our OIC, Supt. Mainwaring, had the pleasure of presenting 8-year-old Kinsley with her prize for winning the RCMP’s Name the Foal contest.

Kinsley was one of the few winners across Canada to have her chosen name selected for an RCMP foal, Cadance. 🐴

This week, we are saying farewell to Staff Sergeant Geoff Harder as he transfers to @WestshoreRCMP Detachment after more than 20 years of dedicated service with the North Vancouver RCMP. A familiar face in the community and in front of the camera, Geoff proudly represented the detachment with professionalism, integrity, and leadership throughout his career. Today marks the final day of the North Shore Youth Academy, held in partnership with @WestVanPolice. Throughout the week, participants have had the opportunity to experience many aspects of policing, take part in hands-on activities, and gain valuable insight into what it takes to serve our community.

Like so many people across the country, we waited each day hoping for good news in the search for 11-year-old Parker Wells. We are deeply saddened to learn that the search has ended in tragedy.

The North Vancouver RCMP extends our heartfelt condolences to Parker’s family, friends, and everyone affected by this unimaginable loss.

We also want to recognize the unwavering dedication of the @CalgaryPolice, Calgary Fire Department, search and rescue teams, and the hundreds of community volunteers who gave their time and energy throughout the nearly two-week search. Their compassion, determination, and tireless efforts are a powerful reminder of the strength of Canadians when a community comes together in a time of need.

Today, our thoughts are with Calgary as they mourn this heartbreaking loss.

A simple traffic stop last night led to an impaired driver being removed from the road and drugs being taken off our streets.

During a traffic stop and subsequent impaired-driving investigation, officers observed drugs and drug paraphernalia in plain view. The driver was arrested after failing a Standard Field
Sobriety Test (SFST), issued a driving prohibition, and had their vehicle impounded.

Additional drugs were seized as part of the investigation. Meanwhile, the driver's phone seemed determined to stay busy, ringing constantly with callers looking to place orders. Unfortunately
for them, their preferred delivery service was no longer accepting requests.

The phone and other evidence were seized as investigators continue to advance the case.
Not exactly the type of delivery driver we were hoping to stop.

Sometimes the smallest gestures have the biggest impact. 💙

After our officers conducted speed enforcement in the playground zone on Arborlynn Drive, they returned to find this heartfelt thank you note waiting on their police vehicle.

To the resident who took the time to write it, thank you. Your kind words mean a great deal to our officers.

Keeping our neighbourhoods safe, especially where children walk, bike, and play, is why we do what we do. We are grateful for the support of our community and will continue working together to make our roads safer for everyone. 🚔

The 46-year-old woman who was reported missing on July 7, 2026, has sadly been located deceased. This is a tragic outcome, and our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all those affected by her loss during this difficult time. The cause of her death is not considered suspicious. The RCMP extends its sincere condolences to her loved ones.
