If my phone dies, I am lost because I have become so accustom to look at my phone that I don't have to ability to spot street names, and highway numbers. I'm again slave to the system.

Illusion of freedom because the more advanced it becomes, the more dependant we become on the devices. Internet is indispensable thus making us modern day slaves to the system. Our minds do not need to be as sharp because the smart phones will make the mental effort for us

That illusion of freedom is also causing out minds to be less alert and we are becoming lazy because we are so dependant. It is a bit of a paradox because I feel free to drive anywhere because of my build in google gps, however I completely depend on it.

On their own time at home, they can browse other contents but not in school. Students dont bring cards or monopoly to play during class time so it will be the same for their digital classes, they will not be lenient to go on other websites and that control is not an invasion

I do not consider this as a violation of privacy because we are in the framework of a school and educators have the obligation of looking after students and insure their well being. That obligation serves to properly educate them. They have a flexibility on their own private time

Technology advances at a very very high pace, so if students are utilising these tools in the school that means they will keep up to date with the advancement and they will grow while leaning new technologies

The benefits of having a comprehensive outlook to implementing digital technologies and social media in education is that it keeps education current and in tune with the advancement. It is keeps the learning experience adapted to the youth culture.

In my opinion, one of the most successful project of social media in the last years has been the beauty in diversity. Thanks to social media, we now have a revolution in the fashion industry and people of all colors. all shapes and ethnicities are able to their place on covers

Some social media projects are more successful because of the lay out ,wether it is user friendly, ergonomic are factors that make it or break it. Some projects are successful because it speaks to citizens globally and are not related to just one culture or one country

Teachers need to control what the students are doing in the digital community, students need to be supervised. Teachers need to learn how to master the use of social media so they can teach it the proper way as well.

The challenge that we will need to face using a free web using service in the classroom is the appropriate use of this channel. Everything is accessed with one click and we need to make sure that the content being accessed within a classroom setting remains about the subject.

@NEduc307 That is very interesting because we cannot really impose a pluralist approach in the class room. we can discuss that ideology but it cannot be imposed.

@NEduc307 I think that the danger of that is we are getting so attached to our devices that it becomes our comfort and having real conversations with people on the bus or on the streets for no reason makes people uncomfortable. we are becoming socially awkward.

@pgiouzelis_ @NEduc307 It's because during confrontation people through empty words or hurtful words in the heat of the moment whereas when you are behing a text, you are more calm collected and even if you have to confront someone through text at least the words have been thoughtout enough.

@NEduc307 I think its because they feel they can process their throughts better as oppose to have face to face interactions where it does become challenging if you are talking about a sensitive matter.

@massimo_lorusso When it comes to studying I would rather work on my own because I process information differently from other people and I need my own time to grasp the theory but when it comes to practical work, I like other students interaction as well because we can all contribute

@massimo_lorusso I agree, I think that when a project is being attempted within a group , it prepares the students for the real life ahead because once in a real job, you are required to work in collaboration with various other talents and the traditional school system does not prepare for that

@MichaelSpina11 @massimo_lorusso Web 2.0 has definitely brought people together, now that there is social media, fashion is being globalized , everyone wants to look like what they see on Instagram which is very Kardashian influenced thus we might loose our sense of individuality as well.

@noah_EDUC307 I do agree. We are young and living in the now, we think we got this digical code now. But what happens when it gets advanced really fast and the newer generation gets more acquainted to it than we do. We need to find a way to stay up to date with the digital code
