As someone who ran an esports team, most people don’t understand just how terrible it is to run teams in Tier 2 - Tier 1.5 esports.
If you have a good player or roster, they WILL get poached or bought up in an instant by bigger orgs. All that time and money, down the drain for pennies on the dollar.
Then there is the financial side. What is the point of raising players into superstars, and spending thousands on a salary + travel when partner teams can eat that cost like nothing?
Practically speaking, mixing franchising and an open circuit will ONLY work if there are contract buyout clauses for non-partner teams.
Oh you want to buy a tier 2 player from a non partner teams? You should be REQUIRED by Riot to pay a minimum buyout fee (let’s just say $25,000).
This allows amateur teams to not only sustain operations, but also for Tier 1 orgs to not fuck over smaller teams with no leverage.
@arshgoyal13@LSXYZ9 Had the same worry recently (altho within US). Had 8 ripped packs chilling in my carry-on and no troubles with TSA either.
Been pulled aside for a full box of unopened pop-tarts being too sharp so I was a bit surprised they didn’t say anything about the cards
There used to be different leagues to try to encourage women to participate in gaming and to level the playing field, but now I don’t even know what the point is.
I get this is a joke but good esports SMMs are so under appreciated. They’re some of the most passionate people I know and most get severely underpaid while dealing with whatever hate and criticism their team/league gets. Show some love to your SMM every now and then 🤍
you main adc, you spend half ur life clicking correctly, min maxing spacing/kitting
tmrw timmy stop playing fortnite, open league and gap you with 40X less input lag and effort,
now you play a low agency role that got little to 0 macro decision making, w an erased skill gap😇
