I’ve had a passport since I was 2. I grew up in Germany (my father was military). By the time I was 13 I’d been to 8 countries, my mom 13 and my father 15 (that I know of). I’ve been to 11 countries now. There is about 8 states that I have not been to. My children both have passports. They have only been to St. Maarten. They maintain them so if they want to travel they can.
@tanpukunokami I would say most folks in our area are armed with something. Some of us are more well armed than others. Everything I own I have paid for myself and about 50% of it I have assembled myself from parts.
@libsoftiktok@AmericanAir I had this happen to me early in my career. This is why I don't check bags if I'm traveling for a week or less. I always carry a Polo, underwear and socks in my personal carry on.
@Zafir88538734@gotrice2024 I use premium synthetic oil. But there is no point in putting $4.50/gal gas in my truck when $3.69 gas effectively does the same thing. If I was towing I'd put premium in it. I do prefer ethanol free when I can get it.
What you really need to know is what the humidity in the house is. I have my thermostat set to 72 with overcool enabled to 55% humidity. 72 with 55% humidity is comfortable to me. My downstairs office is about 76 with 45% humidity and feels the same. If your ac is able to pull the humidity out and stay at 76 you’ll be comfortable. That may be possible in a new home. Mine was built in 1984 and it’s not that tight. I’ve been working on it and it gets better as I replace siding and add house wrap etc.
@madmomma22@HenpeckedHal Adaptive cruise control is great, you just have to learn how to set following distance and time when you change lanes. If you signal the lane change it doesn’t try to keep you in the lane. All of those features can be disabled.
Not really controversial. A modern 9 speed transmission is going to be better overall. There are times its decision to shift or downshift may be questionable but I’d agree overall it’s more efficient. Manual was more efficient when autos were 3 or 4 speeds and massively heavy. A manual transmission is going to be more reliable in the long run though and should be cheaper to produce. I never wore out the manual transmission n any vehicle I had and clutches lasted a long long time if you don’t ride the thing.
@HistorianUSA1@LoudSil89342659 What do you think happens to a server n a slow Monday night? They get cut early. As a result they are making no money. Those days much prefer a counter service place. Especially since the level of service received has gone down so much.
@lorahmoe My kids got jumper cables and jump starters. They carry both in their cars. In addition to that we have battery impact wrenches too. They aren’t expensive these days, a charge can last a year and it’s a lot faster than doing that shit manually .
