Nicholas Ward

Independent Candidate #witneybyelection standing against #HS2. Wrong priority and wrong project, Parliament must think again.

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

@FionaSyms2016 Well done for standing. Very difficult to be an independent non-party candidate with little media coverage. Nicholas Ward.

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

Goldsmith, Lab and LibDem all support HS2. It will cost £56 bn of public money but there has been no independent review.

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

Heathrow will be fully finded by private sector but there has been a thorough independent review by the Airports Commission. Not so HS2.

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

Following dismal Witney coverage, I wrote to 150 plus political journalists asking for fair coverage of Richmond Park. Only one responded!

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

If I had stood at Richmond Park would have been one of four Independents and, this time, not at bottom of ballot paper.

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

Alas Richmond Park by election media coverage drowned by Brexit High Court decision and President-elect Trump.

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

Richmond Park. Nomination form signed by ten kind people and appt fixed with returning officer but decided at last minute not to stand.

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

@FionaSyms2016 May have tweeted wrong a/c. Hoping that you will call for a Davies-style review of HS2. Being an Independent is such fun. NW

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

@fifisyms Sorry. Sent my last tweet, on HS2, before signing it. I hope you agree with me but good luck anyway. Nicholas Ward.

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

@fifisyms What is your position on HS2? Do you agree that there should be an independent inquiry before commitments are made?

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

Thanks to everyone who supported my Witney campaign. Good progress. Now for Richmond Park? Goldsmith voted for HS2.

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

#WitneyByElection Vote WARD today to make Parliament think again #HS2! Wrong Project. Wrong Priority.

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

Chipping Norton voter supports Nicholas Ward on Sky News. Join him and VOTE Ward tomorrow #WitneyByElection #HS2 @adamboultonSKY

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

Heathrow decision deferred for a year. Parliament and voters also need time to think again on #HS2. Vote Ward in #WitneyByElection Thurs

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

Ministers allowed to speak against Govt line on Brexit and Heathrow. Why not #HS2?

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

Today supported by Independent Crossbench Peer Lord Alton of Liverpool. 1979 by-election rivals now united against #HS2 in #WitneyByElection

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

Wonderful reception in Woodstock this morning for my campaign against #HS2. #WitneyByElection

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

@JuliaHB1 A vote for Ward in #WitneyByElection will mean the Govt will have to rethink priorities. #HS2 astronomical waste of money https://t.co/ucoldmf8Vg

[Julia Hartley-Brewer @JuliaHB1]

I'd definitely build either of these before HS2. https://t.co/xJIzyhJ8mA

[Nicholas Ward @nwNoHS2]

@Witney_UK Ward's message to #WitneybyElection: a vote for Ward on Thursday can save UK £61billion from #HS2 flawed project. Spend on NHS. https://t.co/qdV8Daqe9r

[Subster @Sub_Might_Say]

Still no sign of any #WitneyByElection candidates knocking on my door, all the junk mail has gone for recycling, I want to speak to people.
