Two days ago we celebrated Ernie Punch McLean. Today Punch has passed away. Even at 93 years of age I’m stunned by this news. I’m happy he got to hear how people felt about him on Wednesday at QPA, even though I’m sure he heard it regularly. #RIPPunch 🪽👊🏽
Very enjoyable event to kickoff our campaign to honour Ernie “Punch” McLean. Thanks to all the speakers & those who attended. Let’s get this statue approved & made soon!
Thanks to @keywestford for your support.

Modern- day witch hunt proposed by Chair of Metro Vancouver after @GlobalBC reports that top three executives are either on leave, terminated or facing possible suspension @keithbaldrey @jarmstrongbc https://t.co/vDF5slv63s
On tonight’s #NewsHour: @MetroVancouver seemingly more concerned with who leaked info on its leadership crisis — than the crisis itself.
They didn’t want you to know the top 3 executives were either on leave, terminated or facing suspension.

Outrageous. An unprecedented attack (well if you don't count Nixon) on great journalism. Metro Van chair is creating his own Plumbers Unit, a la Nixon. #bcpoli
.@MetroVancouver doesn’t think you, the taxpayer, deserve to know its leadership team (as exposed by @CUrquhartGlobal) is in total chaos.
Instead, Board Chair Mike Hurley (statement below) willing to spend more taxpayer $ to identify ‘leaker’ of that info.

When I started the show on CKNW 5+ years ago, one of our core themes was the size of local government. My mantra’s been simple: get back to basics—focus on community centres, potholes, and garbage pickup. Looks like that’s shaping up to be the theme for the ‘26 elections. #bcpoli
NEW - @JohnRustad4BC says a @Conservative_BC government would "get rid of Metro Vancouver and turn it into what it’s supposed to be which is a water, sewer and garbage utility."
"We don’t need that extra cost and bureaucracy in our system."
