This week’s edition of the @TheMissourian has a few articles regarding the policy. All articles have misinformation riddled throughout. If you want accurate information regarding this policy and student concerns, please show up to the meetings and talk to informed students.
The Student Org Conduct Policy Informational Forum has begun! Dr. Baker is kicking it off with an explanation of the University’s standpoint on this proposed policy.
Hey Bearcats! We hope you enjoyed your break and bonus day off. We are still here. We still care. Let’s make our voices be heard. https://t.co/jH3kkd9UKn
Greek leaders and concerned members: If you would like to attend an informational meeting about the proposed Student Org Conduct Policy, please email or DM @NWMOStatePres (or DM this account) for more information!
There is a time change for Student Org Conduct Policy Forum.
Dr. Baker, Megan Deshon-Runge, and a faculty attorney (Dr. Dan Smith) have been invited to answer questions regarding the proposed policy. Please prepare factual, hard-hitting questions for the panel.
Bearcats, please take advantage of Dr. Baker’s office hours today— 2pm-4pm. Voice the concerns you have. Every voice matters and we want yours to be heard.
Dr. Baker’s office is located in the Office of Student Affairs (by the fireplace) on the main floor of the Union.
Concerned students,
Dr. Baker will be hosting office hours in the OSI from 2-4pm today.
Please stop by and voice your concerns, ask questions, and give feedback regarding this proposed policy!
This is how you effect change. Take this opportunity to meet with @mcbakermo.
3. There is a lot to be proud of in this Bearcat community today. This university is our home and we must stand for our future Bearcats. Fight the good fight. Remain focused on the facts and goals of this movement. Encourage one another.
2. It is important to remain positive and focused during this process. Pointing fingers and personal attacks do not effect change. Scheduling meetings, contacting alum, communicating with peers, and asking questions is how we will get to where we need to be.
Amidst this movement, I want to remind you all of a few things.
1. Your voice has power. I have spoke with Dr. Baker today and he is working with the legal team now to amend pieces of this policy based on the student concerns brought forward.
Do you want to join the conversation and better understand the #OurVisionMatters movement? Join us November 28th at 7pm in the Union Towerview room for an informational forum!
Here’s a summary of some of the issues students have noticed regarding the policy. Bearcats, please voice your opinion and allow yourself to be heard on this important issue.
If imposed policies are going to affect all student organizations, meaning nearly 80% of all students on this campus, then it is completely unacceptable for the administration to move forward without giving students adequate means to voice their concerns. #OurVisionMatters
