It's not just the rain that you should be aware of, but the leaves too. We leaves on the road can be as slippery as ice!

A moose was spotted on I-90 in Rensselaer County this morning!
Make no moose-stake: Wildlife can appear without warning. Stay alert, slow down when animals are near the road, and give them space.
❄️ We’re getting ready for winter on the roads. At home, you may be able to save on energy bills: Half of all NY households are eligible for monthly discounts through the Energy Affordability Program. Check eligibility and apply: https://t.co/FnvhyUE463
Update: Mid-Hudson Bridge: Lightweight vehicle restrictions due to severe winds removed at this time. Cautionary high wind advisories remain in effect.
We are closely tracking the power outages caused by the ongoing coastal storm in Long Island, NYC & the Mid-Hudson region.
If you experience a power outage, report it to your local utility company and follow these important safety tips: https://t.co/pMqM2SFQ1C
@NYSDOT is monitoring the storm, coordinating with officials and ready to respond.
Are you prepared?
Is your vehicle in tip top shape?
Do you know what to do if a signal is out?
Are you monitoring 511NY for conditions?
Be prepared. Be safe.
A State of Emergency is in effect as a coastal storm brings heavy rain, coastal flooding, and possible erosion through Sunday. NYSDOT crews are prepared to respond as necessary. If a traffic signal is dark, treat it as an all-way stop. Stay clear of downed trees and power lines.
As darkness has overcome the #HudsonValley, we urge drivers to take care when out on roadways. Roads are wet, rains have caused flooding conditions and vehicles cannot stop quickly. Leave plenty of space, slow down and pay attention.
