In today’s @LongIslandPress, former prosecutor @GaryFalkowitz warns: Gov. Hochul's auto proposals weaken negligence laws & lets corporations escape accountability.
His son Ethan was killed by a drunk/high driver.
New Yorkers should be skeptical of any policy that promises affordability in exchange for rights.

State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins said Hochul’s changes to joint and several liability law were dropped from the budget and insurance companies won’t be able to automatically increase rates by 5%. There will also be limits on consumer data they use to set rates.
Want to network with top women trial attorneys? Interested in a great view and sunset? RSVP Today! Come join NYSTLA's Women's Caucus for a networking event along the river. Last few spots remaining!
Gov. Hochul claims that the state’s “excess profits” law will prevent auto insurance companies from pocketing the savings from her Uber-backed proposals to erode crash victims’ rights to sue for damages, but lawmakers say this law is a "joke." https://t.co/XdgSLGCnUG
You paid for protection. Not a fight after the storm.
NPR reports that insurance costs keep rising, but when claims get cut, consumers are left paying more and getting less.
Governor Hochul’s car insurance plan would further incentivize insurance companies to delay and deny claims by injured victims so the companies can profit from investing those premiums.
