Marie Van Brittan Brown, #Queens-native inventor and nurse, built revolutionary home security technology possible in 1966. She and her husband patented a home security system, which included a camera, two-way microphone, and monitor, linked through a wireless system!

Thank #Brooklyn-born, #Queens-raised Gerald "Jerry" Lawson, a pioneering self-taught computer engineer for the first video game cartridge, which led to the development of many major gaming consoles, like the Atari, Playstation, XBox, and most recently the Nintendo Switch!
Marian Croak, an engineer and inventor, is one of the pioneers who made videoconferencing tech possible through her work on VoIP technologies. Croak was recently inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame and currently holds over 200 patents!🎙️

Dr. Philip Emeagwali, a Nigerian-born computer scientist and math prodigy, went from never having used a computer, to creating the world's fastest computer using microprocessors. His discovery, inspired by observations of bees, lead to the development of the Internet!🐝
