i was thinking about how we have never heard phob call thin by his name throughout the series. even after he overthrew the monarchy,he still addresses him as fàa-bàat /ฝ่าบาท (your highness). by calling him fàa-bàat, phob uses a highly formal royal form of address, thin’s rank is Mom Chao (หม่อมเจ้า), for whom Than Chai (ท่านชาย) is a traditional form of address. so phob using (fàa-bàat) carries a poetic double meaning. it blends official duty with romantic worship, highlighting their power imbalance while showing how phob willingly submits to and reveres thin,he elevates thin to the absolute peak of devotion almost treating him like a monarch or a god.this specific word choice proves that his devotion isn’t just about respecting a royal superior it’s an act of worship.i feel using his(thin) personal name would mean treating thin as an equal on an everyday level, but phob sees him as someone eternally placed on a pedestal((by phob himsef))
there is a tragic irony to his character here cus phob uses words of total submission for thin, even though that language belongs to the very system he is trying to tear down. yet, under the guise of royal etiquette and extreme respect, fàabàat becomes phob’s hidden love language. even in public he hides his deepest romantic devotion right in plain sight when he’s using the word.even after the revolution, phob never stops calling him that. it shows his devotion was never about social status or political power it was always about thin as an individual. even when the hierarchy collapses around them, phob’s personal hierarchy remains untouched.on the other side, thin loves phob so unconditionally that he would gladly shed his royal titles to be with him, which we actually see him do in the series.thin’s love allows the formal titles because he understands it is phob’s way of expressing love, creating a private, intimate language between them despite their ranks.phob’s love, however, demands this elevation. he works to overthrow the political system precisely because he loves thin to dismantle the external barriers that keep them apart among other things refusing to drop the royal address after the revolution proves his heart never sought to “lower” the prince. instead, using this highly formal royal address becomes their personal form of endearment. because it belongs exclusively to how phob speaks to him, it acts like a sacred private language one that honors thin’s true essence while serving as a constant, quiet confession of love.the tragic beauty of their dynamic is that while phob succeeds in helping tear down the monarchy in the external world, he refuses to dethrone thin in his heart which is why he continues to address thin with highly formal royal language even after the revolution wins and the formal class system collapses.

🗣️:do you get jealous when the whole country loves ongsa?
🥚:i’m not jealous at all. i’m actually happy for him. the more people who love him, the happier i am.
🗣️:so you’re okay with sharing him with other people?
🥚:of course. definitely. because he’s so ‘cute,’ it’s already too much for just one person. he has to be loved by lots of people.
🗣️:how is your love different from everyone else’s?
🥚:i’d say it’s more about taking care of each other.
[about phob spotting tin at the rice mill]
