@Mario_Tirabassi@CHGO_Blackhawks The model obviously isn’t perfect but with this method the only “tank” could possibly occur between teams in that 8-12ish range.
@Mario_Tirabassi@CHGO_Blackhawks This leaves the best potential jump to be from 8 to 1or from 16 to 9. The bottom 8 teams (25% of league) realistically be the only ones at a shot for first. Also, this significantly reduces the desire to tank due to only a 5% difference between 1st and 8th.
@WallMaz35 This has been loud and clear for the entire season? Not really sure why fans complain when he’s out of the lineup, unless they want him in to help out the tank.
@BarstoolChief If they get Bedard and add FAs possibly, but the safer bet would be to assume they would still be a lottery team that year. Like in that 22-26 range, seems like KD wants to take things very slowly.
@Blackhawk_Up What else could they have done? They picked up Bjugstad and a defensively proven blue liner with their severe lack of cap space. Nobody would want Ceci, Kulak, Campbell, etc. they all make too much for too much term
@Tysher37 I have to think this has something to do with the fact that the hawks have won 5 in a row. McCabe leaving will decimate the hawks D core. With tank bowl games coming up it had to be done now.
@MarkLazerus You would think this has gotta be a gamble with KD thinking Matthews is going to potentially leave and that the 2025/2026 1st could end up being top 15 or possibly better with the 2nd also being early
@GregBoysen Hey Greg, why is there so much chatter about the limited return Kane is expected to get? I thought this was the same situation Giroux put PHI last year in with the one team demand. PHI received a pretty decent return for that, why shouldn’t we expect the same?
@OlivierBegin10@emilymkaplan I 100% agree, I don’t understand how they wouldn’t get at minimum what Giroux received last year? He also only gave one team that he wanted to go to? What’s the difference here?
