[The Ocean Cleanup @TheOceanCleanup]

Here’s what happened at The Ocean Cleanup in October:

💠 We hit a big milestone — over 40 million kilograms of trash removed from the world’s oceans and rivers.

💠 Our river catch keeps climbing, thanks to the deployment of more Interceptors and constant improvements.

💠 Interceptor 007 broke its previous catch record in LA County after heavy rain.

💠 In Jamaica’s Sandy Gully, Interceptor 015 stopped a massive amount of trash — including over 30 fridges.

💠 We announced a new deployment in Honduras, still undergoing some improvements.

💠 In Panama City, we’re preparing for our third deployment with our partners, Marea Verde.

💠 With Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii, we analyzed 12,000 kilograms of plastic collected by System 03 to better understand sources of debris in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
