I’ll throw my hat in for this #thinsectionthursday with a microstructure from the semi-ductile portion of the #wasatchfault. I have never seen dynamic recrystallization kinematic indicator like this before with offset quartz subgrains. @cataclasite @UVUEarthScience

@cataclasite @UVUEarthScience Yes to both the feldpsar and microfault cutting across much of the thin section! These rocks are near the BLG => SGR transition, and feldspar brittle. Probably >350 *C, but <500 *C. The feldspars form bookshelf-faulted boudin trains that back rotated during def.

This point by @ewarren is really important: 40% of people with student loan debt don’t have a college degree. They’ve basically got the worst of both worlds. Canceling a big chunk of debt would be *huge* for them.
