One of the biggest mistakes people make in relationships is turning preferences into oppression.
Many relationships fail because people hear a preference and interpret it as a command.
A man says, "I like a woman who can cook."
The woman hears, "Women belong in the kitchen."
A woman says, "I like a financially responsible man."
The man hears, "I'm only valued for my money."
Meanwhile, neither side may have actually said those things.
Someone can appreciate a quality without reducing your entire worth to that quality.
The problem starts when we stop listening to understand and start listening to defend ourselves.
Something to think about.
Lord, please guide me, do not let me make enemies as friends. Take away every eye service friends that wants to disrupt my journey, separate me from destiny stoppers. Amen.
Oluwa, maje kin fota sore, maje ki elenini aye ba temije.
Awon afojufeni mafokan feni, tonbami rin irin ajo aye mi, lati dimi lowo, Oluwa, ya mi ya won. Amin.
