My great grandads body has never been identified and he therefore has no known grave. His fall is commemorated in the Tyne Cot memorial near Ypres
I will be remembering him today as well as the millions that gave their life

On the 16th August 1917
108 years today the 7th KOYLI was part of the 20th Light Division, 61st Brigade, which successfully retook the villages of Langemarck and Steenbeek from the enemy; lost during 1915.
Great Granddad and Great grandma had him out of wedlock but decided to get married on April 1917, 5 months before his passing. The sad thing is he probably knew he wasn’t coming back and wanted to make sure that my Great Grandma and Granddad were looked after once he had gone.
