The Auditor General, Mr. Edward Akol, together with his delegation, on Friday 18th September, 2026 concluded his study visit to the Supreme Audit Office of Poland (NIK) under the ongoing EU Twinning Project, hosted by Mr. Mariusz Haladyi, President of the Supreme Audit Office of Poland.
The visit provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge and learn from NIK’s institutional practices, with a focus on strengthening OAG’s systems, staff capacity and audit quality.

Today, the Auditor General Mr. Edward Akol opened the AFROSAI-E SAI Digitalisation Benchmarking and Review Workshop hosted by SAI Uganda, emphasizing that digitalisation should be viewed as an institutional enabler.
He stressed that digitalisation should strengthen professional auditing practices, improve organisational management, optimise the use of resources, reinforce quality assurance, and enable more effective communication of audit findings and institutional performance.

The workshop is running for five days at Audit House, Kampala.

The Auditor General, Mr Edward Akol, has today presented his proposed amendments to the Rules of Procedure of Parliament, before the Committee on Rules, Privileges and Discipline of Parliament of Uganda, chaired by Hon Fredrick Ruhindi.
Hon. Ruhindi, appreciated the Auditor General and his team for their technical input and observed that Auditor General is a key stakeholder in this process.

The visiting delegation from the National Audit Office of Tanzania (NAOT) has paid a courtesy call on the Auditor General Mr. Edward Akol at Audit House.
The Auditor General has reaffirmed the Office's commitment to strengthening collaboration and knowledge sharing with sister Supreme Audit Institutions in the region.

SAI Uganda is participating in the Swedish National Audit Office(SNAO)-Regional East African Cooperation workshop on Quality Management System and Performance Audit is at Mt Meru Hotel, Arusha, Tanzania.
Other participating SAIs include Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda with support from SNAO.

The Auditor General, Mr. Edward Akol, is hosting a delegation from the National Audit Office of Tanzania, led by Assistant Auditor General Mr. Baker Mageuza, for a benchmarking visit.
​Over the next few days, the teams will exchange best practices in Forensic Audit & Data Analytics to strengthen institutional capacity and public sector auditing across our SAIs.
