I play a lot of games. Retired from gacha, so now I spiral into the tech that could make gaming feel more alive.
Persistent worlds. Characters that actually remember you. Tools that feel like magic or sci-fi instead of looking cool in a demo and being useless to a regular person.
Not launching anything. Just thinking out loud and arguing with myself in public.
I've been kicking around a thought.. if my tools forget me every time the system changes, were they ever really mine? That's what I want to solve.
I want continuity that survives swapping the engine under the hood. Not a new personality every Tuesday. I'm tired of meeting my apps all over again like it's 50 first dates LOL
Bruh, these robot demos keep going viral and I get it, they look insane right? But the real question: does it still work when nobody’s filming? 😏
Cause a staged demo and an actually useful machine are not even in the same league. I’ll care when it actually helps my daily routine.. laundry, dishes, cleaning and it’s not just some guy across the world behind a computer (unless it’s GPT-subscription cheap… LOL).
Been trying out OpenAI's Dots and it kinda feels like talking to Albert Einstein.. except he's locked in a room with no windows and no WiFi
Trying to give him access to anything feels like pulling teeth LOL. Honestly think that's why Grok Bot is pulling ahead
@ArronConnelly Puzzle rooms where concepts carry over sounds sick for sure.. that's basically memory as a mechanic
And yeah the clone thing is tough 🤔 feels like the fix is the game owning the memory, not the model. Let the LLM just voice what the world already knows
Decisions persisting for sure. Not replaying the same route, I mean the NPC actually carrying what happened between us into the next session..
And yeah I can see why companions get tricky, that's exactly where people notice it forgot 💀 What was the hardest part to keep consistent?
@MicOgundare@mattzcarey@badlogicgames Remembering the chat log is the easy half. Does it change what they offer you, who they warn, or which doors stay shut? That’s when memory stops being a party trick and starts feeling like a world.
