@pesky_podcast Did you guys forget they did the same thing with Houck last season? This lying isn’t any new revelation. I guess fans and media let that slide.
I didn’t. That’s why said from the get go—Crochet was injured. Beginning in ST. He wasn’t right at all this season.
News from @PeteAbe: Garrett Crochet told the Globe that his lat strain “is a lot worse than what we thought” and he has “no idea” when he might get cleared to throw.

@HebHammer94 He’s regressed this season. Started out getting suspended for a game. Something deeper going on with him or they wouldn’t reacted so quickly.
@TJBennettt37 Remember—there’s no stat for players with guts/attitude. The analytics alone don’t make up for a player’s human value. That comes from the scouting department.
And wouldn’t you know it-they downsized that area.
@TJBennettt37 I know you’re in the analytics crowd now, but when they fired Dombrowski and traded Mookie—was the beginning of the end. It’s been proven. Dombrowski is successful in Philly. Mookie is still good…all these years later. Shoot even Xander would help. Crazy times now.
@TJBennettt37 Ok you were a teenager back then. I was your age NOW back in those years. Trust me when I say 6th isn’t solid. Never was. The attitude of management was different. It was very Dodger-like. Spend $$$. Yankee fans were accusing the Sox of buying a WS.
Nowhere near that nowadays.
@TJBennettt37 Disagree. 6th is not solid. At all. Not sure how old you are or if you remember 04/07/13/18. The offseason. The Sox were in EVERY conversation for the high priced FA. They were not afraid to spend. And did so.
They are now. To be consistently competitive they can’t be.
@BallParkBuzz@BostonStrong_34 Actually when they talk “trading assets” he should top the list. He’s peaked. Trade value will never be higher.
Learn from the Duran example. Don’t wait until his value goes down. And it will.
I spoke with someone familiar with the Roman Anthony situation. Roman was never supposed to be involved in day-to-day activities; he was supposed to be resting. Driveline had him doing dry swings daily, which likely contributed to the injury worsening into its current state. He has several weeks of recovery ahead, followed by rehab in Portland if everything goes smoothly. #dirtywater
Assets? You still need to field a team. You’re mistaking Breslow for someone who is capable of actually fielding any semblance of a team if he trades his assets.
Zero trust in anything he does.
Hope you fanboys are happy with your precious prospects. They all suck.
11 games under .500 for the first time since that abomination of a season in 2020, but let’s give all the executives a vote of confidence and say that we’re still a playoff team that’s not considering trading any assets. Should’ve blown this team up in April.
@WEEI@richkented@KenLairdWEEI@Teddyjradio@heyrichhey Tracy isn’t the issue. Neither are the coaches. It’s Breslow. It’s old news. But it’s reality. Players aren’t playing well-team isn’t winning—they got their manager and 5 coaches fired. Of course the environment is going to suffer. They’re in last place. Still.
Still want him back in a Sox uniform. Fucking cheap ass Red Sox. Now they got to pay 3x the cost in players and prospects for decent rental that may be available. These nerds in the front office need to be stuffed in a locker.
@BOSSportsGordo lol “career”. Any analytic can make any mid player great. We all watched him. He wasn’t good. He struggled. His best season was .263 with 136 k’s. OBP 367. 3 years ago. A cliff afterwards. Fanboys make him out to be the next Freddie Freeman. More like Freddie Patek.
@matthewcrory None worth keeping over the prospect of getting a player like Crochet in return.
But this was done in the offseason. To land a player of Crochet’s caliber at the deadline—it would take 3x those prospects. Or just a MUCH better return of established players.
