The BX 4TC arrived in late 1985, three years after the Quattro. 2.1L turbo, 380 hp in Evolution spec, hydropneumatic suspension. Three rallies in 1986, one 6th place in Sweden, then Citroën pulled the plug.
Only 86 of the 200 road cars found buyers. Citroën then offered owners double the purchase price to buy them back, warning that servicing would end either way. Bought back or unsold, the cars were crushed under bailiff supervision. Around 40 survive today
