Glad to share that I was featured in the latest promotional campaign for SOSO Africa!
I had the pleasure of sitting down with the Nigerian visionary behind SOSO Africa and we had a heart-to-heart about the incredible journey behind the brand.

What a sad story. Unfortunately, stories like Solomon’s are becoming all too common.
The Nigerian Police Force is empowered to investigate crimes and allegations under Sections 4 and 32(1) of the Police Act, 2020. However, in practice, some arrests occur without proper investigation. This contributes to pre-trial delays and wrongful detentions.
It may not be advisable for Solomon to enter into a plea agreement without fully understanding the circumstances. To plea-bargain means the defendant admits guilt, confesses to the crime, and negotiates a lesser punishment in return.
In this case, the charge is a capital offence. Therefore, Solomon would not be eligible for a sentence bargain. A charge bargain is also not advisable, as it could lead to admitting guilt without the benefit of freedom.
Please reach out to us at @hopebehindbar via our HELPLINE: 0800 007 04222. With more details, we can assess how best to provide support. We remain committed to a justice system that is fair, transparent, and accessible to all.
We joined @Laconhq, @UNICEF_Nigeria, @EUinNigeria and other stakeholders for a project orientation titled: Joint Monitoring and Legal Aid for children in detention at Kuje, Suleja and Keffi custodial centers.
The project is aimed at providing access to justice for young children and young adults in the FCT.
Too often, minors are incarcerated with adults, forgotten in the system, and denied legal support. This initiative is aimed at finding them, representing them, and reuniting them with their families.
Hope Behind Bars Africa was represented by Our Programs Assistants, Ayodele Okedele (@lionofjustice0), and Dorcas Anaja (@AnajaDorcas), who championed the reintegration of the minors, because what happens after release matters too. We have been assigned cases to handle,to provide legal support to 1 minor, 4 young adults and other detainees.
A child leaving detention with no support is just being set up to return. That cycle of recidivism needs to end.
This work will take persistence, collaboration, and compassion. We are grateful to be part of it and ready to show up for every single child we discover along the way.

I was honored to represent @hopebehindbar at an impactful outreach in partnership with @ForvisMazarsNG at the @followlasg Government Children’s Correctional Center for Girls, Idi-Araba.
Empowering Girls and Cultivating a Greener Future in Lagos!
@hopebehindbar partnered with @ForvisMazarsNG for an impactful outreach at the @followlasg Children Correctional Center for Girls, Idi-Araba. A key highlight of this initiative was promoting environmental responsibility through the planting of trees and crops like spinach and pumpkins within the facility. This effort not only improved the environment but also fostered climate consciousness and a sense of responsibility among the girls, supporting their rehabilitation.
We were warmly welcomed by the Principal, Mrs. Sumbo Ojukotola, and Vice Principal, Mrs. Ajibola Shokanlu, who provided a tour of the center’s rehabilitation facilities for tailoring, shoemaking, hair design, and more.
We are proud to support reform initiatives that blend climate action with empowerment, fostering a brighter, greener, more just and inclusive society.

We demand the immediate release of Human Rights lawyer, @DeleFarotimi, who has been arrested by the Nigerian Police.
Section 35 of the Nigerian Constitution provides for citizens’ personal liberty and states that arrests must be made only under specific conditions, primarily when a person is suspected of committing a crime or detained by lawful procedures.
The repeated targeting of human rights activists and members of civil society like Dele Farotimi must stop. These actions violate the rule of law and undermine our democratic values.
We call on @PoliceNG to uphold the law and release Dele Farotimi immediately.
