$GPRO we are sitting at $1.78, from here what we need for a run in pre-market, is to go above the VWAP at $1.81 and hold it, build up momentum to take out the $1.88 resistance. Then we could be looking at a move towards $1.96 resistance.
I think the market may be too focused on $1.14 in $GPRO.
“Why trade above $1.14 if that’s the deal price?”
But the structure is:
$1.14 cash + 0.10 shares of NewCo
So $1.14 is not the whole story.
GoPro’s business remains, while NewCo adds exposure to AI data centers, optical transceivers, photonics, defense, and U.S. manufacturing.
The real question is:
What will the market value NewCo at?
And here’s the interesting part:
$1.14 itself may be attracting shorts.
If traders keep shorting $GPRO based on the idea that $1.14 is the ceiling, but that assumption turns out to be wrong:
**NewCo rerating
short covering
momentum buyers
forced covering
= potential squeeze**
And once a squeeze starts, price doesn’t have to move linearly.
$3 → $5 → forced covering → $7 → momentum → $10+
Not a prediction. Just a possible squeeze scenario if the short side gets crowded enough.
That’s the thesis:
$1.14 may not be the ceiling.
It may be the bait.
And the more shorts pile in around that assumption, the more potential fuel there is if the trade reverses.
NFA. Pure speculation. DYODD.🫡
$GPRO
$GPRO Tuesday.
Buyers haven’t left. Trend’s still intact and 2.05 is the level that opens the rest of the move.
If we take Friday’s high and hold it, 2.50–3 is on the table same day. That’s the zone where shorts WILL be sweating.
Labor Day open. Volume’s been #1. This thing isn’t done.
Also I feel a responsibility to tell you guys that I bought 150,000 shares of $GPRO at 1.55
The fomo kicked hard. Gonna get another 50,000 Monday and forget about it. Not a short squeeze meme play but this is my Coca Cola and I paperhanded for 350k last time.

$GPRO isn’t done.
My short theory:
Before this rip, about 25 million shares were sold short while the stock was stuck around $0.60. Then Markiplier bought 8.5% and the merger news hit.
Shares to borrow almost disappeared and the stock exploded.
That’s not just regular shorts. I think this thing is also heavily naked shorted — shares sold that were never actually borrowed. That’s why volume went insane and borrow still looks tight after a huge run.
I think this can go a lot higher, than $1.7 and the real squeeze hasn’t even begun yet.
