Leaving Banff after a wonderful, reflective & inspiring week at the Biennial Obligations Conference, hosted by great team @westernuLaw (not all of whom seem to be on twitter, but many thanks to Zoe, Joanna - @JoannaLangille - and Jason, and to Andrew Robertson)
@ObsConf
That’s a wrap on the 10th Conference on the Law of Obligations. Incredibly proud of my @westernuLaw colleagues Joanna Langille, Zoe Sinel and Jason Neyers for convening such an amazing conference.

Having the time of my life @ObsConf - wonderful to be in beautiful Banff with some of private law’s most thought-provoking scholars (and it turns out they’re great fun to hang out with, too!)
Delighted to speak on a panel with @snailsinbottles and Margaret Hall @ObsConf today on ‘Tort law and the State:Anglo-Australian approaches to compensating victims of child sexual abuse’. Great session and 🙏 to the audience for their questions! #obsxbanff

It is indeed so good to be back in the same room with brilliant private law colleagues from across the world.

The Obligations Conference is now 20 years old! 🥳 The 20th anniversary of the first Obligations Conference @MelbLawSchool in 2002 passed unnoticed in February. Not much to celebrate until we can start meeting again, but hopefully the regular schedule can resume next year.🤞🏼
Sadly, the uncertainties created by the COVID-19 pandemic have made it necessary to postpone Obligations X: ‘Private Law and the State’ until 2023. We plan to hold the conference at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Alberta on July 11–14 2023.
