I did a lot of research and asked around. There’s also two boys who almost died in the Upside Down but survived. Their names are William Hargrove and Edward Munson

It’s an apocalyptic version of Hawkins, Indiana with a Mind Flayer which possesses people and demobats and demogorgons and Vecna who is the most dangerous one of all and can kill. You know he’s around when you hear clocks and then you have a week and then he kills you
