@osazenoo I cannot count the number of umbrellas I have forgotten in public/private transport and places I visit. So I just don't see the need bcus the chances I will forget it and the rain later beat me is very high. So no need
@TosinOlugbenga@bolazeal I think a lot of Nigerians would. Especially if the platform is owned by a Nigerian. But the government will need to do the right thing by shutting down platforms like moviebox and others. Yes we all love Free movies but ......
This is the man of the moment for many Nigerian employers ...
His name is Tosin Eniolorunda, founder of Moniepoint, one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing companies.
Speaking at The Platform organized by Poju Oyemade, he said Nigerians are unemployable and justified it by saying his company has 500 vacancies it has struggled to fill.
So I checked Moniepoint Career page; there are about 83 open roles and the overwhelming majority are senior-level or highly specialized positions.
That is not the same thing as saying there are no employable Nigerians
It simply means there is a shortage of highly experienced talent in certain areas
This brings me back to what I shared earlier today
When Shell came to Nigeria, we had no drilling engineers or geologists that understood how to get oil out of the ground or petroleum engineers to process it to export standard
They took the pain to establish a training school that created a talent pipeline for several technical and non-technical roles
That investment produced the experts we now see across the oil and gas sector
Which is why we now have almost zero expatriates (foreign workers) left in the Nigerian Oil and Gas sector
That is how ecosystems are built...
Talents does not appear out of thin air
They are intentionally developed
This is why I keep saying many Nigerian employers have unrealistic expectations
Many want world-class output without making world-class investments in people.
If you need highly specialized talent, you have two options:
Train them or pay a premium to attract them.
What you cannot do is complain about a talent gap while refusing to participate in closing it
Nigeria is still a young country in tech ...our talent ecosystem is still maturing
You either play a part in the growth or continue whining

@sneekywhite@frankedoho@OgbeniDipo Traditional banks pay a lot for physical office all over the country. Some have over 5 branch in small state and even more in big states like Lagos. Also take into consideration the cost of running these offices, from man power to electricity with poor power. we can't compare
@viktorbensonyt Even the top rated companies in America outsource jobs to India Pakistan and even Nigeria, it is not new. They look for cheap labour with longer working hours. On the job training is how companies upgrade their employees even abroad, instead of this demarketing.

@mrlurvy The governor is not an experienced politician. He keeps making the same mistake again and again. Edo state governor came to meet an all pdp state Assembly, and in less than 3 months or so, majority are now in APC. The governor should calm down and negotiate with these men.
@Mario9jaa Most of the electronics and home appliances you see in the Nigerian market are not the original brand product. From tv to home theater, while fridge/freezers and gas cookers are amongst the most fake and rebranded appliances in the market. It is crazy
@OfficiaEdoOsasB Bro I will advise you stay off this matter. Both of them are not worth defending. To one, every Nigerian, African is unwise and unaware ,except for him who have drank from d "water of life" from dune. The other abuses and broke shame people here regularly. Don't get dragged in.
@Shadaya_Knight Accident happens everywhere . Diogo jota of Liverpool didn't crash in Africa, neither did Federico pisani of Atalanta or dale Earnhardt(Nascar), Ayrton Senna(formula 1 driver), kelvin kiptim, mike Hawthorn (formula 1). Accident can happen anywhere, especially when overspending .
@Ohmz___@Osasdave4701 I believe that was just a lie to navigate the resistance from the people in the school who Initially confronted them. "I believe"
