100+ security issues. Identified. Neutralized.
AI in its current form is a nuclear force. Channeled right, it delivers pure, unadulterated, unmatched, productivity gains. Channeled wrong, it ships weapons, with attack vectors the world has never had to defend against.
The next chapter will be defined by this duality: breathtaking productivity unlocks, colliding with deep, surgical, systemic attacks unlike anything we've seen.
For any blockchain team, any open-source team, security is THE PRIORITY.
The MultiversX team has been operating around the clock. Nights. Weekends. Relentless. Methodically filtering, triaging, and eliminating, in record time, a long list of material issues and protocol-level improvements. Every fix is another layer of hardening ahead of Supernova.
To put things in perspective: in the last few months, we've surfaced and closed more issues than in the previous 3 - 4 years combined. This is the preparation phase. And the fact that AI has crossed a new capability threshold cannot be overstated.
Supernova is not an upgrade. It is a complete rewrite of what a blockchain can be, instant performance, radical scalability, human UX that actually feels seamless, and just works. It also opens a new verifiable agentic highway. Real. Live. Working today.
Continuously adaptive security will define the AI era—and almost no one is treating it that way.
Static firewalls defended the old internet. Continuously adaptive security is what defines survival in the AI era.
Our engineering team, along with a resourceful network of builders, validators, and community members, is doing the surgical, disciplined, vital work that shapes what comes next.
This is MultiversX. This is SUPERNOVA.
Agents Are Eating the World
A few structural shifts redefining value creation, market topology, and the architecture of the firm.
The Death of the Session
The fundamental unit of software is shifting from the “session”, a human sitting in front of an interface, clicking through menus, to the “task.” Agents don’t browse. They execute. This collapses the entire UX layer that defined the last three decades of software into a thin orchestration membrane. The companies that built moats around user habit and design familiarity are discovering those moats were made of sand. When an agent books your flight, it doesn’t care about your airline’s homepage redesign. It cares about the API. The implication is seismic: distribution advantages based on UI stickiness are evaporating. The new moat is data gravity and API surface area.
CORE INSIGHT: Every company is now two companies: the one humans see, and the one agents negotiate with.
Autonomous Commerce Loops
We are witnessing the emergence of closed-loop autonomous commerce, agents procuring, negotiating, and settling transactions with other agents, with humans only setting boundary conditions. A procurement agent evaluates 4,000 suppliers in the time a human reads one proposal. A pricing agent adjusts in real-time across 200 variables no human could hold in working memory simultaneously. This is a new market topology. The speed and dimensionality of agent-mediated commerce will create market dynamics we’ve never modeled: flash negotiations, millisecond arbitrage on service contracts, and reputation graphs that update continuously. The companies that win will be the ones that build the settlement rails and trust infrastructure for this machine-to-machine economy.
CORE INSIGHT: The next Visa is not a payments company. It’s an agent-to-agent trust and settlement protocol.
The Principal-Agent Collapse
Economics has long studied the principal-agent problem: how do you ensure someone acting on your behalf actually serves your interests? With AI agents, this problem transforms from a social contract into an engineering specification. Agent alignment isn’t about trust, it’s about architecture. Guardrails, evaluation loops, and value functions replace traditional contracts, incentives, and performance reviews. This is simultaneously the greatest risk and the greatest opportunity. The companies that solve agent alignment at the infrastructure level, building auditable, interpretable, controllable agent systems, will own the trust layer of the entire agentic economy. Every agent interaction requires a trust decision. Whoever arbitrates that decision captures the toll on every transaction.
CORE INSIGHT: The most valuable company of the agentic era won’t build agents. It will build a system that makes agents trustworthy.
In the end, the solution arrives, and it's striking is how much it simply converges on Supernova. Sub-second interaction anywhere on earth. True agent scalability. Programmable, verifiable actions. Payment and orchestration rails embedded at the foundation.
This is SUPERNOVA.
UNFOLDING LIVE: MultiversX Introduces Universal Identity and Trust Layer for Agentic Systems via MX-8004 🔥
The 8004 standard is coming to MultiversX.
It is our implementation of the ERC-8004 Trustless Agents standard and introduces a native identity and registry layer for autonomous systems. Soulbound agent identities. Onchain job validation with oracle verification. Reputation scoring anchored in verified work. Deterministic cross-contract reads tying it all together.
The contracts are deployed. The code is public. The Explorer is indexing it.
This is the universal trust layer for agents, on MultiversX.

FRESH OFF THE PRESS: MultiversX Unveils Flagship Multi-Protocol Universal Agentic Commerce Stack 🔥
AI agents have now moved from experimentation to economic actors in production. They schedule travel, reconcile invoices, manage inventory, trigger payments, and coordinate workflows with minimal human involvement.
Until very recently, the underlying infrastructure has lagged behind. Most payment protocols and blockchain systems were designed around interactive users, manual approvals, and sporadic transactions. Agent-driven systems operate continuously, programmatically, and across multiple environments. They require different assumptions at the protocol level.
Over the past months, MultiversX has implemented a set of protocol integrations designed specifically for this mode of operation. Together, they form a complete stack for agentic commerce: discovery, authorization, execution, settlement, and performance.

Rebuilding Elrond, The Great Transition
We are approaching what feels like one of the most trajectory-altering milestones in our brief history. Not just for the network, or for the ecosystem. But for every single person who has believed, built, or simply held on.
Over the past weeks, I've had the same conversation, in different forms, almost every day. Some brief. Some deeply illuminating. But all circling the same gravitational center: what is the thing that recaptures attention, ours and the world's, and puts us back at the frontier?
The first conversation has been with the team. Watching them build this new engine that has emerged, slowly, painstakingly, and then almost at once. There are two ways to look at it. One is technical, studying the system, the code, the architecture, appreciating the years of effort compressed into something objectively and fundamentally better. The second way is simpler, more immediate, almost visceral: execute a simple transaction on “the old MultiversX architecture”. Then execute the same simple transaction on Supernova. If you have the eyes to see it, that moment right there, is staggering.
Observing both, the meticulous building and then the results, that somehow still surprise me. You understand that something foundational has changed, and this time, you can really feel it. This week, we are closing in on the last known bugs, preparing for a final wave of specialized chaos testing before the public battles begin. A refreshing milestone.
To come back to the question, this new Supernova experience provides the first and strong answer. One that reshapes what users, builders, and investors weigh when they look at a project like ours. A new standard for speed. For scalability. For resilience. For what it actually feels like to use a blockchain. This is Supernova.
The second conversation took me through the same point, but from the opposite angle. We revisited the same question with a long-time investor, someone who has been part of Elrond, then MultiversX, through all the seasons. Once I showed him Supernova in practice, something shifted. He saw it differently. So much so that he found this great moment to take the opportunity and add a significant new position to his EGLD stake.
The Elves are, slowly, coming back.
People who have been here for years, the good years and the difficult years, are returning to look with fresh eyes at everything that has been built. While markets have been brutal across the board, taking a close look at this sometimes excruciating progress is humbling.
It opens a different perspective on what now becomes possible.
A good moment to pause. Take a closer look. Test the new experience. Let it become what it was always meant to be: a rebirth.
Supernova.
A BIG MOMENT FOR XPORTAL 🔥
Ownership. Liquidity. Yield. Payments.
All accessible at one click.
Now you can also bet on the future.
Venture Perps brings pre-IPO companies access to xPortal. No geography gates, no insider networks, no waiting for permission.
That means people around the globe can get access to Anthropic, OpenAI, Spaces and many others. Think about that for a second.
We are finishing what we started long ago.
The Generational Reset, the New Frontier, and the Rebirth of Elrond/MultiversX
Something fundamental has shifted.
The core assumptions that guided builders, users, and investors across global markets have been detonated. The scaffolding we relied on is broken and gone, and what rises next will be built on different grounds.
This applies to business generally, but also to the crypto landscape. The way builders build has changed. The way users discover and engage has changed. The way investors invest and capital flows has changed. It is time to recognize this for what it is: a structural secular trend, that will not stop anytime soon.
This is the environment where the rebirth of Elrond/MultiversX is forged.
In some sense, Supernova is the last fortress.
Ownership, grounded in mathematics and cryptography. A stake in one of the most scalable and high performance blockchain architectures ever built. Privacy woven into the very fabric of the protocol. A new AI native money, built on top of this network.
Consider a very nearterm scenario, with a world where AI performs 90% of our work, shapes our entertainment, and mediates our interactions every single day. What becomes critical and scarce in that scenario?
Verifiability. Determinism. Programmability. Resilient uncensorable trust that does not depend on institutions. This is what blockchain provides at its core. And what Supernova, through its architectural re-invention, is purpose built to deliver.
Grounding AI interactions in verifiable deterministic outcomes. Providing the rails for cooperation and coordination at scale. A money and finance fiber, capable of delivering scale, speed and UX standards, for the age of AI.
This is the frontier. This is Supernova.

Day 2 - A Quest To Rebuild Elrond, But What Did Elrond Stand For?
If you think about it, Elrond achieved quite a lot. At least, much much more than people thought it would.
Consider where it began. A small country, in Eastern Europe. Built by an unlikely team, most people never heard of. Self-funded until a certain point, and then funded quite modestly. In a time and place where if you'd had asked around, no one would have believed such a thing could even be possible.
But unbeknownst to most people, this small underdog team would go on to achieve the impossible. Literally. Writing a breakthrough architecture from scratch. Going through hundreds of trials to make it work. Days bleeding into nights, and nights into weeks of struggle. Coming quite close, very close, to biting the bullet, and dying. Several times.
Yet through all of it, slowly, steadily, that small team delivered something most people still struggle to fully grasp, even years after launch. An open-source network, built from nothing, delivering a 1000x improvement in throughput over the status quo via sharding.
Now, it's worth pausing for a second and asking, what did Elrond stand for, really? What won the people over, against a massive backdrop of disbelief?
A few things, probably.
For one, the team was small. Nimble. Fast. They shipped. Faster than most. They didn't wait for permission or good weather before attempting the impossible. They jumped headlong into the water and found a way.
Two. Despite every challenge that hit, and some hit hard, the team did not die. Each blow only made them more relentless. This might seem like a strange thing to list, but when looking around at the hundreds of projects that raised 10x or 100x more money and simply vanished, perspective shifts.
Three. And perhaps most important, in Elrond, people saw a rare and unlikely dream finally taking shape, and coming to reality. A new financial system, one where they could be more than consumers. A system they could own a piece of. A system arguably better than what existed, where they could hold a direct stake. As obvious and crazy as this may sound today, seven years ago (which feels like an eternity now) this idea seemed pretty radical and borderline ludicrous. At least outside the technical and startup circles.
*Elrond was perhaps the most ambitious startup of its kind. Building something that looked like the future, felt like the future, and worked like the future, where ordinary people could actually participate.*
That was pretty radical, and rare. And it changed many people's perspectives and lives.
Elrond stood for opportunity. The kind you encounter perhaps once in a lifetime, if you are fortunate enough. It stood for ambition. For resourcefulness. For just building things. It stood for a different future. One open to anyone who saw it, believed in it, and wanted to be part of it.
Elrond delivered a radically better solution. It raised the standard. It pushed people to be better. To do better. To ask how they could contribute. To build things themselves.
We wanted Elrond to be the backbone of a high-bandwidth, low-latency financial system. And we wanted to give anyone, anywhere, easy access to it.
The direction was spot on. But the timing, and many other pieces, were not quite there yet.
With Supernova, we have a genuine chance to make that vision a reality. To push the boundaries once more across performance, resilience, and user experience, in a way that has not been done before.
*We stand now at a moment much like the one before Elrond's mainnet launch. But the opportunity that lies ahead of us, the lessons we've learned, the capabilities we've acquired, the adoption landscape that presents itself, all of it far outstrips our previous conception of what was truly possible.*
Elrond stood for something. People loved it, and they stood for it. Now is the time to take that essence, and embed it at the very heart of what comes next.
Supernova.
Day 1 - A Quest To Rebuild Elrond
2026 will be a quest to take the best of what we achieved and built with Elrond, the vision, the breakthroughs, the scars, the victories, and expand it into something far greater. Pushing beyond known limits. Crossing the frontier once again.
Today, we begin with the very foundation on which everything is built: the network itself.
The time has come to vote for Supernova.
Supernova is the milestone marking a new genesis event. A complete remaking of the entire network architecture from the ground up. This is how we achieve levels of performance, resilience, and user experience that not very long ago seemed impossible to conceive. A network that *works* and *feels* like the future. A network that is instantaneous. Offering a magical experience for users and builders.
This is a turning point. A fork in the road, toward a qualitatively different and better future.
Tomorrow, the Supernova vote begins.
A few raw showerthoughts on MvX/EGLD in 2026
(i.e. things that can 10x/100x EGLD value creation & accrual)
First. Less is more. We intend to be significantly more aggressive and intentional in saying no. 99 of no's every single day, make a big yes truly possible. This is hard to grasp at first, but rapidly compounds once put in action. This is how we enter 2026.
Second. Speed, action, agency and directional alignment matter 100x more in the age of AI. We are prioritizing launching fast. Iterating on a few ideas, bringing them to life, and putting them in the hands of users. Letting users be our thermostat for what's needed, loved and valued. Ideally, I would want us to end the year with one cool milestone launched every quarter. But maybe there is a good possibility to push that limit to one cool milestone every month. Or maybe even faster.
Third. A few (very few) major directional milestones for 2026:
(a) Supernova - this is without a doubt the biggest milestone for the network. A complete reinvention, to put MvX at the very frontier of speed, scalability, and UX. Delivering this, taking it across the line, will be like giving birth to a new chapter for the network. This is our number one priority for the year. Why? Because this changes everything for the network. Capabilities, competitive edge, monetization potential, added value for users, builders and investors. Supernova, makes Mvx once again, objectively, one of the most advanced and competitive networks in the world. For speed, scalability UX (and decentralization/censorship resistance).
(b) Zero knowledge privacy - ZK primitives embedded at protocol level in MvX adds a completely new dimension. Privacy is a foundational necessity for users, and society. ZK is the means to make this a reality. Private EGLD transactions and private smart contract interactions open a completely new set of possibilities for a network that is instantaneous, and remarkable in UX. A money that is uncensorable, private, and programmable, is a money that has substantial expected value. Making this set of properties a viable network reality, marks a material uptick in the value of EGLD itself.
(c) A major focus shift on the app layer - we are moving toward a few, monetizable, and enshrined finance primitives that can generate and accrue material value for EGLD. The big lie shared by many across the crypto space is that you need hundreds of apps, and tens of thousands of builders to succeed big with a network. But the hard and refreshing truth is that you only need *one app* that users truly love, use, and pay for, to break through the ocean of irrelevance and take the network to a new level of attention and adoption. Now, just pause, and think about that for a second. (!) Drastically compressing the application surface space initially, to develop a niche monopoly first, is a rather contrarian bet that can make all the difference. But the immediate and compounding gains in focus, speed, and efficiency could become a surprising turning point. What are those primitives, how do we create or get to them, how do we align and move lightning-fast? This is some good food for thought, that is the subject for an entirely separate post.
(d) AI built into everything - AI has been eating software for a few decades now. But the rate of change at which it happened in 2024 / 2025, and will continue to accelerate in front of our eyes in 2026, will be astounding. I’ve been stating a variation of this for the last 2-3 years now, and we’ve indeed had a number of AI SDKs, AI services and AI applications launched on this front during the last 2 years. 2026, will feel like AI is being gradually merged into everything we are doing. The effects of that will be a 10x-100x improvement in builder market expansion, a 10x-100x improvement in number ideas brought to life, a 10x-100x improvement in time to value (more effective reframing of time to market). Applying AI to lower barriers to entry and increase distribution speed, bring ideas to life drastically faster, and generate more and faster value with them; that is what 2026 and the next years will feel like.
The times are changing. While markets have been especially challenging for everything crypto related, I believe (a) Supernova will mark a new chapter with dramatic shift in UX and performance for the network, (b) privacy embedded at protocol level will open a new set of use cases for users and builders, (c) a few enshrined, monetizable and EGLD aligned primitives will give a new breath of fresh air and focus to the network and ecosystem, (d) AI embedded at every level of the experience, starting with the builder level, will unlock a vastly larger builder market, accelerate number of ideas brought to life, and improve time to value and monetization on them. Executing and shipping to bring these ideas to life, is where we'll spend the year.
It’s 2026. We can just build things. With focus, speed, and intention.
Making them truly accessible and relevant far beyond crypto, to the rest of the world around us.
Supernova!
Wishing all of you a very warm and merry Christmas!
Use this time to get a few moments and share a brief smile with the family. It's worth it.
Thank you for being here, and adding your efforts, to move things even a slight bit forward.
Beniamin & baby E. 🎄❤️
“Sell everything. Walk away. Declare it dead.”
That’s the easy take. Building is harder.
That’s usually how it sounds right before something important happens.
While the noise is loud, the protocol engineering team just pushed a real breakthrough:
~80ms block finality, running full sharding, live.
That’s an order-of-magnitude improvement in speed, at internet scale, without compromising decentralization.
-----
Building something truly new in tech, from scratch, at this scale, is brutally hard.
Building something that has never existed before means constantly rethinking fundamentals, technical and operational.
Engineering is not the only place where iteration happens.
Organizations must evolve too.
As part of this evolution, we are restructuring parts of the organization.
We are simplifying, refocusing, and increasing execution efficiency across the board.
Fewer distractions. Clearer ownership. More energy where it compounds the most.
This is about going deeper on what truly matters.
That’s what real focus looks like.
-----
None of this diminishes the value of the work done so far, quite the opposite.
I want to express deep gratitude and respect to everyone who contributed, experimented, built, and pushed boundaries during this chapter.
What exists today is only possible because of that effort.
-----
The goal remains unchanged from day one:
to build a protocol that redefines what is possible at internet scale.
Markets move in cycles. Narratives come and go.
But execution compounds.
We will continue to redesign, refactor, and push forward, with renewed focus, and absolute commitment to finishing what we started.
-----
If this feels uncomfortable, it’s because progress usually is.
Adapt, adjust, and push harder.
