@holmes_rhonda A5 Cont: I also try to make a big effort in explaining to students that school isn't all about turning in assignments. While that is GREAT, they are here to help learn, grow, engage, and bloom with every other student and that conversations with their classmates are good!

@holmes_rhonda A5: Every few weeks I give my students a survey based on how they enjoyed the content/classwork so I can get feedback if they really wanted to be engaged. This has helped me plan so many other lessons and sometimes I need to switch it up with videos/projects! #NCBTChat

@holmes_rhonda When presenting new vocab, sometimes I will use my whiteboard and write the word and explain the root word's importance, draw diagrams (i.e. cellular respiration), and/or draw images to show them, and I ask for them to do this with me too for engagement/understanding #NCBTChat

@holmes_rhonda A3: I love using Gizmos for science since we are unable to do labs/group work. It also makes it easy for my students to participate in person and online when we are hybrid. When we are in person, I try to use less online models because they do better with physical work #NCBTChat

@holmes_rhonda A2: I take time to ask my students how they are feeling and try to connect to them through socio-emotional High Order Thinking questions. They gave me a list of songs that make them happy in the first week and we listen to one if they are overwhelmed. REALLY helps! #NCBTChat
