How many countries are rushing to send money here to help with hurricane damage right now?
Ohh none??? Weird…
Yea maybe we should stop pouring money into theirs for random stuff.
The Boston Marathon is the closest thing to a real sporting competition that the adult marathon scene offers.
It’s like college cross country - except for marathons.
It’s like the national championship of marathoning.
No, you don’t get in just because you’ve never been. National championships don’t practice inclusivity (they proudly practice exclusivity).
It doesn’t matter if you’ve already been 6 times. You earned it. It’s not “time to let somebody else have a spot” unless they outran you.
This is 100% the correct approach. It favors merit and objective performance - just like any championship race that you have to qualify for.
I’m appalled at misguided amateurs who want every marathon to be a celebration of effort. I reject that. Sometimes - SOMETIMES - we must celebrate performance. And that’s ok.
THE UNITED STATES BREAKS A WORLD RECORD FOR OLYMPIC GOLD! 🇺🇸🥇
In the final swimming event of the #ParisOlympics, the U.S. is golden in the women's 4x100m medley relay.

🇱🇨 For those new track fans who may be unfamiliar with St. Lucia's Julien Alfred because she wasn't featured in the first season of SPRINT on Netflix.
This isn't a shocker to track and field fans. She was the NCAA champion out of @TexasTFXC last year and then finished 5th in the 100m at last year's World Championships – missed the medals by .16 seconds.
This year, she became the World Indoor champion at 60m and has been improving each time out. She has one of the best starts in the world and it delivered today.
Now, she's the fastest woman in the world.
10.72 to win Olympic gold in the 100m.

@thanh_neville I feel like this has less to do with sexism and more to do with Kamala being a more memorable and standout name than Harris. The opposite is typically true with last names being more memorable.
Here’s the deal. I’ll tell you the truth.
I’ve always leaned a little left when it comes to a few things…
I’ve also leaned a little right on some other things…
But I have never been willing to lose a friend or hate anyone for their political beliefs. There are so many things in life are outside of politics that should bring us together.
Once we can all just agree not to demonize each other for whatever someone believes, that is when we can start to heal.
You don’t have to move closer to their side. You just have to accept that is who they are. We have to learn to live with each other.
He’s President right now. He can cancel student loans right now. He can reschedule, decriminalize and legalize cannabis right now. He can stop genocide right now. Why wait?
@AshleyGWinter As a registered independent, I fear that the minimizing violence and spreading conspiracies is actually hurting the left more and making them pretty indistinguishable from the right.
For the first time ever, Senators stuck a deal to ban congressional stock trading
Since we run the Pelosi Tracker & built the first way to automatically copy their trades via Autopilot
We thought we'd chime in
Here's everything you need to know about the bill
Why do American cities feel less "alive" than their European counterparts?
It's because of something called the "missing middle".
A century ago, American cities looked completely different... (thread) 🧵
@NakeemHere@kirawontmiss Saying the US has low humidity is just as ignorant as Americans not understanding British homes are older and without AC. Florida, Houston, and much of the gulf coast states have extremely high, near 100% humidity.
@LPinFinance year after year whereas a mortgage will likely be more stable overtime. You can also pyramid and rent out a current home and use equity to purchase another: so you get additional income. There are pros to renting, but none that make me regret owning a home.
@LPinFinance While you address solid points on hidden home owning costs, you forget the positives, which this misguides people. With a home you own, you have equity. You can borrow against it. You can sell it. You can’t do those things with a rental. And, rent can increase dramatically (1/2)
