@VeiledShadow343 I can see what you are saying. I think species is a more fitting word. In most cases the word race is incorrect. I think most nerds are ok with some science backing their game though. The word Race is more traditional though.
@CorpseKings Yes, it is a mandatory part of any rpg. I always hated in DnD that everyone can carry infinite weight, even if encumbrance existed, no one used it. The Unbound Odyssey uses a very simple version of this.
@VeiledShadow343 Its always a slog fest when you have similar "classes" just beating on each other. TUO system offers defensive actions that encourage players to defend as to not take damage, or less damage. This works well to help balance things. Using an out of turn action.
@VeiledShadow343 An action is nothing more than a time slot in combat. I also incorporated the ability to use actions outside your initiative to react to other players actions. This makes combat much more engaging.
@VeiledShadow343 The system I created in The Unbound Odyssey uses actions like this. some weapon sizes require 1 action while others require 2. Moving also cost an action. It works well the way I have it, if you are "kiting" a mob, you are also spending actions.
@RealmBuilderRPG I also prefer longer campaigns. Rules light just seems to me like "I don't feel like getting into anything" type of game. That's what video games are for, to calculate things for you.
