A Decarbonising Zone is a local area chosen to focus on reducing carbon emissions. By working together in one place, the community can try out practical ideas, see what works and share successful solutions to other towns.

For Tullamore, this means bringing together residents, businesses, schools and community groups to play a part by saving energy, supporting renewable energy, choosing sustainable travel, and helping build a cleaner, healthier future 🌍

John will be explaining how the initiative will work and share details of an information evening taking place this Wednesday, 22 July, at 7.30 pm in the Tullamore Court Hotel for anyone interested in getting involved.

Offaly County Council are excited to be nominated for the Sustainability & Climate Leadership Award at the Tullamore Chamber Business Awards this weekend!

Offaly County Council were delighted to support some local Offaly secondary schools yesterday at the Hydrogen Grand Prix in TUS Athlone.

The H2GP STEM Curriculum is a great learning tool for young people to see renewable energy in action and race with Hydrogen cars they have built themselves!

Students learn about hydrogen production, fuel cells, and energy efficiency through an immersive, project-based programme.

Well done to all the schools involved but in particular:
