जब कोई नीति भारत को आत्मनिर्भर बनाती है, किसानों की आय बढ़ाती है और विदेशी तेल पर निर्भरता कम करती है… तब कुछ लोगों की बेचैनी अचानक बढ़ जाती है।
सच्चाई यह है कि भारत में अप्रैल 2023 से E15, अप्रैल 2024 से E19 और अप्रैल 2025 से E20 ईंधन का उपयोग हो रहा है।
20 करोड़ दोपहिया वाहनों और 20 लाख चार पहिया वाहनों में वर्षों से इसका इस्तेमाल हो रहा है, लेकिन कोई समस्या सामने नहीं आई। क्योंकि यह निर्णय वर्षों के वैज्ञानिक परीक्षण के बाद ही लागू किया गया।
फिर अचानक E20 के खिलाफ प्रोपेगेंडा क्यों?
संयोग देखिए… जैसे ही E85 Compatible वाहनों की शुरुआत हुई और भारत ऊर्जा आत्मनिर्भरता की ओर एक और बड़ा कदम बढ़ाने लगा, वैसे ही दुष्प्रचार का अभियान तेज़ हो गया।
इथेनॉल का विरोध केवल एक ईंधन का विरोध नहीं है। यह उस किसान का विरोध है, जिसकी फसल से आय बढ़ती है; उस भारत का विरोध है, जो विदेशी तेल पर निर्भरता कम कर आत्मनिर्भर बनने की दिशा में आगे बढ़ रहा है।
सबसे महत्वपूर्ण तथ्य यह भी है कि इथेनॉल मिश्रण कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत स्वयं कांग्रेस सरकार के समय हुई थी। आज वही नीति जब तेज़ गति से आगे बढ़ रही है और देश को लाभ पहुँचा रही है, तब उसका विरोध केवल राजनीति नहीं, बल्कि राष्ट्रहित के विरुद्ध खड़ा होने जैसा प्रतीत होता है।

Look closely at the timeline, and the pattern becomes difficult to ignore. India imports more than 85% of its crude oil and accounts for 30% of oil demand growth globally.
On 5 June, India took a major step towards reducing that dependence by launching E85 fuel for flex-fuel vehicles at Rs 20/litre cheaper than normal E20 fuel, along with the launch of flex fuel cars and bikes.
Soon after, a coordinated controversy around ethanol-blended fuels began to dominate the conversation and fearmongering started.
Consider the facts. E15+ has been used on Indian roads for over three years. E19+ for over 2 years. E20 has been available since April 2025. More than 20 crore two-wheelers and over 20 lakh four-wheelers have been running successfully on E20 fuel for nearly two years.
Yet, as India accelerated its journey towards greater energy self-reliance, opposition to ethanol blending suddenly intensified.
It is worth asking: who benefits if India remains dependent on imported crude oil or batteries.
Every litre of ethanol blended into petrol helps reduce crude oil imports, strengthens India's energy security, reduces air pollution, supports domestic farmers, and saves valuable foreign exchange. Greater use of indigenous fuels also makes the country less vulnerable to geopolitical disruptions and global price shocks.
E20 is a widely tested, verified, scientific, internationally proven and completely safe fuel for our vehicles. It is also a completely Atmanirbhar fuel which has made our “Annadatas” into “Urjadatas”.

Under the leadership of PM Sh @narendramodi Ji, India has built a resilient and diversified energy ecosystem capable of withstanding global uncertainties. Crude oil and natural gas imports have been strategically diversified across multiple regions, significantly reducing dependence on any single supplier.
The govt has also demonstrated its ability to rapidly scale up LPG production during previous crises while steadily expanding the piped natural gas network, a long-term strategy that reduces reliance on LPG cylinders and strengthens India's energy security.
At the same time, India's domestic oil and gas exploration and production are set to increase further as part of the Modi Government's vision of achieving greater energy self-reliance.
With diversified sourcing, expanding domestic production, and a proven ability to respond effectively during periods of disruption, India is well positioned to navigate continued volatility arising from the situation in Iran under the steady leadership of PM Modi Ji.

अंडमान में तीन अन्वेषण कुओं में से दो में गैस की खोज भारत के ऊर्जा क्षेत्र के लिए अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण संकेत है।

21वीं सदी के सबसे बड़े ऊर्जा संकट का सबसे बड़ा खतरा केवल पेट्रोल-डीज़ल पर ही नहीं, बल्कि देश की हर रसोई पर भी थी।
यदि रसोई गैस की आपूर्ति बाधित होती, तो 33 करोड़ से अधिक एलपीजी कनेक्शन वाले भारत का लगभग हर परिवार प्रभावित होता।
लेकिन PM @narendramodi जी के दूरदर्शी नेतृत्व में भारत ने समय रहते निर्णायक कदम उठाए।
एक ओर प्रभावी कूटनीति के माध्यम से फँसे हुए जहाज़ों को सुरक्षित निकाला गया, तो दूसरी ओर भारत ने अपनी घरेलू एलपीजी उत्पादन क्षमता को कम समय में 35,000 मीट्रिक टन प्रतिदिन से बढ़ाकर 54,000 मीट्रिक टन प्रतिदिन कर दिया।
एलपीजी की सप्लाई निरंतर जारी रही।

अप्रैल से जून के बीच ही अकेले डीजल-पेट्रोल में 75 हजार करोड़ रुपये से ज्यादा का घाटा कंपनियों को सहना पड़ा। और इस घाटे को पूरा करने की जिम्मेदारी सरकारी खजाने से उठाई गई। हमने प्रति लीटर 10 रुपये की excise duty भी कम की और बहुत ज्यादा बोझ जनता पर नहीं पड़ने दिया।

यह केवल एक रिफाइनरी नहीं, बल्कि आत्मनिर्भर भारत की ऊर्जा शक्ति का नया प्रतीक है।
लगभग ₹79,000 करोड़ की लागत से निर्मित पचपदरा स्थित ग्रीनफील्ड एकीकृत रिफाइनरी एवं पेट्रोकेमिकल कॉम्प्लेक्स PM @narendramodi जी के दूरदर्शी नेतृत्व का जीवंत प्रमाण है। 'जिसका शिलान्यास करते हैं, उसका उद्घाटन भी करते हैं' के मंत्र को मजबूती है।
9 MMTPA की रिफाइनिंग क्षमता और 2.4 MMTPA की पेट्रोकेमिकल उत्पादन क्षमता से युक्त यह दुनिया की सबसे आधुनिक रिफाइनरियों में से एक है। इससे भारत की रिफाइनिंग क्षमता को नई मजबूती मिलेगी, ऊर्जा सुरक्षा सुदृढ़ होगी और पेट्रोकेमिकल क्षेत्र को नई गति मिलेगी।
इसके निर्माण के दौरान 1.35 लाख से अधिक प्रत्यक्ष एवं अप्रत्यक्ष रोजगार सृजित हुए। अब यह परियोजना हजारों युवाओं के लिए नए अवसर पैदा करेगी तथा MSME, पैकेजिंग, टेक्सटाइल जैसे अनेक उद्योगों को नई ऊर्जा प्रदान करेगी।
एलपीजी, पेट्रोल, डीज़ल और पेटकोक का उत्पादन प्रारंभ हो चुका है।
मोदी जी के नेतृत्व में भारत की ऊर्जा यात्रा एक नए पड़ाव पर पहुँची है।
यह रिफाइनरी केवल ईंधन नहीं बनाएगी, बल्कि विकसित राजस्थान से विकसित भारत के संकल्प को नई शक्ति देगी।

At a time when very few new refineries are being built around the world and the refining capacity of even developed countries is declining, India is emerging as a global refining hub and is the world’s fourth largest refiner of crude oil with two major refineries dedicated to the nation by PM Sh @narendramodi Ji.
After Paradip Refinery inaugurated in 2016, HRRL stands out as a rare new-build, world-scale addition to global refining capacity reinforcing India’s position as a bright spot in global refining investment.

Deeply privileged to witness the inauguration of India’s first standalone greenfield refinery-cum-petrochemical complex in nearly a decade by PM Sh @narendramodi Ji.
One of the largest single-location industrial investments built at a cost of ₹79,459 cr with energy Maharatna @HPCL (74%) and Government of Rajasthan (26%) as equity partners, the state-of-the-art complex in Pachpadra, Rajasthan is built as unified project with 9 MMTPA refining and 2.4 MMTPA petrochemical capacity.
The refinery will produce about 26% of petchem products from the very beginning. It has a Nelson Complexity Index of 17 & is highly energy efficient.
It will have worlds’ largest Polypropylene Unit & Polyethylene swing unit to make more than 30 different polymer grades.
The magnitude and scale of the refinery, which will have Asia’s largest ever Coker unit with 125 mtr diameter & 64 mtr height, can be gauged from the following facts:
>150 lakh cubic mtr earth moved - 6 times the volume of the great pyramid of Giza!
>16 lakh mtr cube of concrete- 5 times the concrete used in Burj Khalifa!
>6 lakh tonne structural steel - 40 times the steel used in Eiffel Tower!
HPCL’s integrated Refinery cum Petchem complex will be a source of joy, progress, development, prosperity & employment for Barmer & people of Rajasthan. Firmly rooted in PM Modi Ji’s vision of @makeinindia, it is one of the biggest projects in the oil sector in India, and will further accelerate our journey towards energy self-sufficiency.
PM Modi Ji also laid the foundation and dedicated development projects worth over ₹1.06 lakh crore for the people of Rajasthan.
