Welcome to my world. Not just a police officer. Building bridges. Forming relationships. Uniting communities. Creating a legacy. Enjoy the journey. Arkansas📍
Full circle! When Darius Austin was in elementary school I went to have lunch with him! This was a big moment for both of us! It was apparent back then Darius was destined for greatness!
Now at 27-years-old, Darius is changing the game when it comes to public service! Today he received the inaugural “Tommy Norman Community Impact Award” an honor in itself!
Darius Austin, also known as The RocketMan , is a community leader, motivational speaker, and Founder & Executive Director of Raise Your Limits (R.Y.L) Outreach Group. He’s also a board member for Keep Little Rock Beautiful, More Than Enough, and Lillie Jade’s Lovies. Through these nonprofits, he leads impactful initiatives focused on youth development, community engagement, and service across Arkansas and California.
A proud Little Rock native and Henderson State University alumnus, Darius has built a reputation for his “foot-to-ground” approach—connecting with communities and creating real opportunities for growth. In recognition of his work, he was honored as a 2025 Sustain The Rock Award Recipient by the City of Little Rock.
Driven by purpose and passion, his mission is simple: inspire others to raise their limits and live a limitless lifestyle!
Congratulations Darius!
Today there will be no text, no phone call, no hug, no celebratory dinner. There will be no pictures to post on social media. There will be no opening of gifts or blowing out candles. There won’t be a beautiful young lady being spoiled by her daddy.
Happy 31st Heavenly Birthday to my daughter Alyssa Norman. Typing this each year doesn’t get easier, in fact it gets harder. I wish you were so I could buy you perfume and a watch, because that’s all I knew to shop for.
You will always be Daddy’s Girl. We’ll celebrate you here while you dace and sing up there. I miss you. I love you.
Dad
What a morning in PCB! I had the pleasure of meeting and having breakfast with Eric and Reesha who traveled in 2 hours from Pensacola. Also met Sharon and Kim from here in PCB! Then I met Selina from Panama City! I finished up by meeting sisters Cohollie and Nichole who traveled in from Dothan, Alabama! All this before noon! So great to meet everyone!
TISSUE ALERT 🚨 In my lifetime, one of the most important things to me is to develop relationships that are impactful. In order to label a relationship as such, you have to instill trust and commitment. In the case of mom Antinia and her children Crisalynn, Za’Nasia, Jailand and Zy’Mon, my involvement has been steadfast. I received word last night that this family would be moving away, so today I paid them a farewell visit. But what happened at the 1:36 mark of this video showed me that my impact was far greater than I imagined. Please keep this family in your prayers as they begin their next chapter. Thank you.
Wow. @LittleRockBSB goes 3-0 in Hattiesburg for the first super regional appearance in school history.
Pending tomorrow’s results, the Trojans will play TROY or #8 Florida for a shot at the College World Series.
Would love to see Trojans vs Trojans next weekend!
At just 2-years-old, Eres has already undergone two heart surgeries, he’s lost half of his intestines, his stomach had to be moved to his abdomen, his legs are backwards with his knees turned to the side. Eres has two toes on each foot and when he turns 5, he’ll have both legs amputated. I’m coming to everyone today asking you to send a prayer up for Eres, his mom, his family and the medical team! In my eyes, Eres is a hero and warrior! Thank you everyone!
Life for Anthony has been a whirlwind. One minute he’s certain and the next he’s not. Nothing has been quite consistent for him. But one things for sure, we have an unbreakable bond and I’ll never give up on him!
Paul calls himself a loner. As I’ve gotten to know him, I’ve come to realize he might not have necessarily wanted a friend, but he needed one. Paul doesn’t give himself enough credit. He often talks about people being against him or how others take advantage of him. At one point in his life he helped two people who appeared to need a ride, only to have his throat cut as they tried to rob him. I read the police report and Paul still has the scar. Paul at times is too kind for his own good. When Paul offered me a cup of coffee a few years ago, he was looking for a friend. Someone he could trust. Someone that wouldn’t hurt him. He took a chance and that chance led to what we both now call a brotherhood. Paul was so happy on his birthday. He smiled and he laughed. His phone only rang once the 6 hours we were together and when it did he proudly said “I’m with my bro I’ll have to call you back.” I’ve often wondered if the day Paul offered me coffee, if it would’ve been someone else he encountered, and that person turned him down? I’m so grateful God had it all planned out. It’s made life better for both of us.
Today was an emotional day. A day that brought closure and justice. The individual that provided fentanyl to my daughter Alyssa in 2021, that ultimately led to her death, was sentenced to 13 years in the Federal Bureau of Prisons. I had the opportunity to address this person and expressed to him right away that I’d already forgiven him. Forgiveness does not mean the pain is gone, and it does not mean the loss is forgotten. I will carry the grief of losing my daughter for the rest of my life. Forgiveness simply means I am trying to move forward without hatred in my heart. But it was important that he understood the impact Alyssa’s death at the young age of 26 has had on so many people. From her son Kingston, her siblings, her family, her friends, the community. Alyssa’s death has caused me to struggle with depression and anxiety, two words that were never in my vocabulary before. Words can’t truly capture the pain that comes from losing a child. It is a grief that follows you every day and in every moment. Two wrongs don’t make a right, and this instance, on November 17th, 2021, two wrongs resulted in the tragic death of one of the sweetest most beautiful people in this world, Alyssa Norman. The choices that were made by others had devastating consequences that my family must now live with for the rest of our lives. Nothing can bring my daughter back. Nothing can replace the life she lost or the memories that will never be. Lastly, I want to express my gratitude to the US Attorneys Office and their tireless efforts in bringing justice in this nightmare of a case. Alyssa Norman. Forever 26. 🕊️💜
